tually). I'll tell you what I think is best for cbse class XII.

PHYSICS- Physics NCERT is one of the best book to learn from( yeah, i admit it is a
bit difficult book to understand but it is the best anyways). No other book is
required. Learn every examples. Also buy a Cbse solved previous year question paper
book(you can choose any publisher. I prefer Arihant. Chapterwise would be better.))
Chemistry- Nothing to say Chemistry NCERT is a masterpiece. Have complete faith in
it. Again buy a previous year as stated above. Intext questions along with examples
are must do. Cbse have the habit of asking from them directly. (Do exercises if you
want to get better grip on concepts). Chem Ncert is enough to get you more than
decent marka in JEE Mains
Mathematics- NCERT again. But I have to admit- it is not one of the best but enough
for CBSE. Moreover you will see same question in your cbse board exam (even the
statements are not changed). Miscellaneous exercises are must to get a 100. Again
buy a previous year book.

P.S. I gave the papers in both 2014(70% in PCM) & 2015(95% in PCM). The difference
in both years?
Previous years book. NCERTs will teach you concepts but to write smartly is what
you will learn from previous years. Decent handwriting will be appreciated.
Moreover if you are good at NCERTs then BITSAT & state CETs will be cakewalk.

I strongly believe sincerely studying the NCERT books and rigorously solving each
and every question from them would be sufficient to get your concepts cleared and
empower you to get a 90+ score in all the subjects. Complete it as many times you
want. You won't probably need any other reference book.

However for interested readers here is a list of books which might act as lubricant
while the NCERT thing remains the primary weapon :-

Physics- Pradeeps Physics is an excellent book not only for rendering deeper
understanding of the subject but also for developing a strong base in you for
solving numerical problems which is the ultimate essence of the subject. It also
has several conceptual and HOTS questions given at the end which would enrich your
ammunition for tackling analytical questions in the exam. If you are into IIT-JEE
preparation, you might need to practise from HC Verma which is a master-class in
this regard (I and thousands of others got into IIT by practising problems from
this book, so I am quite confident of its potential). However if you are interested
for CBSE boards, you may leave it and go for some other good books like SL Arora
which as as good as Pradeeps. For having a final recap and practising past year
questions you may refer to Arihants cbse question papers and Xamidea. Together
with can be another good alternative.
Chemistry-Technically speaking you do not need any reference book outside of the
NCERT to score well in Chemistry. However solving problems and sample papers are
necessary for which the corresponding books that I mentioned for Physics would
serve the purpose.
Mathematics- If you are well-versed with the NCERT book you may start practising
problems from books like R.D. Sharma(probably the best in the market). The practice
papers given in Together with are extremely brilliant which require some effort. So
they are also essential from the exam point of view. For several entrance exams
like IIT-JEE M.L. Khanna is the Bible.
Theory makes you thorough while practice makes you perfect. Hope your query is
answered !!!

As per my experience go with NCERT books, because NCERT is itself is a complete
textbook. you should focus on NCERT books for Examination point of view.

But should not completely depend only NCERT, Reference books are necessary for
class 12 so i would confidently recommend FullMarks books for Physics, Chemistry &
Mathematics.

For Chemistry-

For Mathematics-

These books are written according to mark scheme and weightage of the topics.
Curriculum is balanced and content is very easy to understand, Board questions
NCERT, Exemplar, HOTS questions are marked in the solved examples and exercises.

Happy Learning!

As of my experience this year, if you are not preparing for any competitive exam.
Following might just be perfect for your conceptual knowledge.
Physics - S.L Arora , Pradeep etc (any one of these)
Maths - NCERT ( your top priority) , R.D Sharma (questions).
For maths u just need to have a firm grip on your concepts , practice is something
that comes after.
Chemistry - NCERT , Pradeep (I wont suggest u pradeep but still check it out from
someone or library)
chemistry ncerts are just enough to get a good score.

I gave my boards this year and I realized that paper were purely conceptual. So
I'll reccommend you to focus on your concepts and revise them routinely. Then focus
on your numerical part.

Thanks for A2A!!

As you are in cbse NCERTs are enough but still if you want to study in detail and
more clearly ,use some standard books and i"ll suggest you to study from them .
They are going to give you perfection and will make all concepts clear . I myself
have used standard books in class 12th rather than my course books, and they helped
a lot.

So books you should use are-

For PHYSICS

HC VERMA
IF YOU WANT MUCH MORE DEEP REFERENCE USE SEAR'S AND ZEAMANKY'S UNIVERSITY PHYSICS
OR
RESNICK HALLIDAY

BUT HC VERMA IS ENOUGH

2 . FOR CHEMISTRY
O.P TONDON

IT IS BEST BOOK FOR CHEMISTRY WHICH SHOULD BE USED.

3 . FOR MATHEMATICS
NCERT
RD SHARMA
ONLY THESE TWO BOOKS ARE ENOUGH AND BEST .

math, physics and chemistry?
For class 12 boards I would prefer -

PHYSICS-
1. Fundamentals of Physics by Halliday Resnick Walker for Class 12 (This is best
for concept building and theory)
2. H.C Verma
3.NCERT Books are important too as many ques. from NCERT comes in boards.

CHEMISTRY-
1.NCERT is perfect for chemistry for class 12. But for more better understanding of
NCERT, prefer
2.Master the NCERT Vol-2 by Arijant Publications.
3.Modern's ABC of Chemistry by JP Jauhar
(Work as a great reference)

MATHS-
1. R.D Sharma
2.M.L Khanna

If you can read all this books nicely you could get 90 plus marks. And lastly,
hardwork and dedication is the key to success.
Thank you
