Helpful Hints/Tips and Limitations

Image Suite is designed to work with WINDOWS 7 Pro SP1 64 bit and WINDOWS 8.1 Pro
64 bit with update 1.

Auto Delete Images — Acquisition Only

When Image Suite is configured for Acquisition (ACQ) only mode, the number of images
that can be acquired is limited to 2,000 images, unless the optional storage is purchased,
in which case the limit is 10,000 images. Previously, the software would automatically
delete the oldest images so as not to exceed the image count limitation. A new feature
allows you to control how the images are deleted when the limit is reached. The system
can now be configured to require the user to manually delete the images. By default,
the system is now set to not automatically delete images.

To change the default setting, go to System Configuration > System Settings and
unselect the Disable Auto Delete check box if you want the system to automatically
delete the images.

If you have the system configured to not auto delete images, when the limit is reached
you will not be able to acquire any additional images until you have permanently
deleted images from the system.

Browser Support
Image Suite is designed to work with Internet Explorer V8-V11. If you attempt to use
any other internet browser and/or version of IE, the system may not perform properly.

Oval Black Surround Mask

If you apply an Oval Black Surround Mask on an image, and then attempt to use free
rotation, the mask could become distorted. To avoid this, perform free rotation before
adding the Oval Black Surround Mask. (182297)

Exporting
If you leave the Print Panel before printing, and then attempt to export an image, you
may see images from multiple studies in the Export panel. If you encounter this, you can
simply remove the extra studies from the Export Panel. To ensure this doesn’t happen,
complete your print job in the Print Panel before going to the Export panel. (166405)

Exporting Images to USB

The user could experience an issue when attempting to export studies to a USB drive. A
popup may be displayed, giving the user the option to either close the program or wait
for the system to respond. Carestream recommends that you click Wait for the
System to respond and avoid performing other tasks. If you choose Close the
program, you will need to restart the Image Suite application. (196339)

5
Exporting to Third-Party PACs
If you rotate, flip, or invert the color in a multi-frame image (such as Ultrasounds), these
changes will only be available on the Workstation/Web Viewer and will not be sent to
any other third-party PACS.

Adjusting Image Processing Defaults

There is an intermittent issue when adjusting the Image Processing defaults. If you
perform the following steps, you may have unexpected results:
1. Adjust the Image Processing sliders.
2. Save as the default for multiple body parts.
3. Select one of the Views associated with the body part in Step 2.
4. Adjust the Image Processing sliders.
5. Save as a default for that View.
This sequence may affect defaults for other Views in that body part. (196005)

Remote Network Folders

On WINDOWS 7 and WINDOWS 8.1, images can only be saved to a remote network
folder if the username and password for the network folder match the username and
password of the Image Suite computer. (190406)

Using Network Storage (NAS)

The image thumbnail may not display in the thumbnail panel on the Web Viewer when
configured to use network storage (NAS). This issue is due to insufficient access
privileges. When this happens, the image will still display correctly in the Image Viewer.
To resolve this issue, call your authorized Service Representative. (196246)

Hot Keys
The hotkeys for Undo and Reset are not enabled. Use the Undo and Reset buttons that
are displayed on the user interface. (184084)

Order Entry
You may not see all body parts available on the Order Entry screen when the QC
Target has been deselected in Body Part/View Position under the System Settings
menu.
Workaround: If you experience this issue, go back into Body Part/View Position in the
System Settings menu and check the box next to QC Target. (190519)

Image Overlays
When configuring overlay font settings, you must make the changes both at the Acquire
workstation and at the Web Viewer. (166178)

Images in Preview Status

If the user selects a new view while an image is still in the "preview" status, the
previously acquired image will stay in the "preview" status and the user will not be able
to end the study.
The recommended procedure is to select the previously acquired image and allow the
status to change from "preview" to "full resolution". This will allow the study to be
ended.

6
Web Viewer
Proper use of the Web Viewer may require you to disable the Pop-up Blocker in Internet
Explorer.

The Web Viewer utilizes ActiveX. Please select Accept if Internet Explorer displays a
“use ActiveX?” prompt.

The Web Viewer utilizes FLASH. If you see a JAVA SCRIPT warning message after
selecting the Import button, it indicates that you do not have the current FLASH
program installed for Internet Explorer. Make sure the latest version of FLASH is
installed on your system, and add Image Suite to the Internet Explorer Trust Web Site.
(186098)

Web PACS
When you export images from the Web PACS, any changes to the W/L values will not be
exported. However, the W/L changes will still be visible on Image Suite. (172447)

Web Reports
The Web reporting functionality is fully operational on WINDOWS 7 Pro 64 bit.

If you attempt to use reports on WINDOWS 8.1, then logos, images, or page numbers
may not be properly displayed or printed.

If you are using WINDOWS 8.1, and some of the content on the page is cut off when
previewing the report, you will need to add the Image Suite application to the
Compatibility List in Internet Explorer. Go into the Internet Explorer Tools menu and
select Compatibility View Settings. Add this website: http://IP/ImageSuite. Ensure
that Display intranet sites in Compatibility View and Use Microsoft
compatibility lists are both checked. (186438)

Tablet Viewer
When you are working with larger images in the Tablet Viewer, such as mammography
images, you may experience slower than normal W/L performance due to the amount of
data being processed. (184639)

The Tablet Viewer is designed to be used in landscape mode. When it is used in portrait
mode, some of the data may be hidden. For best results, use landscape orientation when
working with the Tablet Viewer. (183308)

Image Suite and the Tablet Viewer may not be used for Mammography in the United
States and Canada. The mammography feature is available outside the United States
and Canada only.

7
Language Limitations
Printing images to paper from the Image Acquisition screen is not fully supported in
all languages. However, you can print to any supported DICOM printer. (183863).

Exporting images may not work if you use non-alphabetic local characters in the Patient
ID field, so avoid using them. (166110)

You cannot export to a folder that includes a Japanese character in the folder path
name. (185538)

When running the Japanese Veterinary version of the CD Viewer, the software always
displays the Client name vs. the animal name. (185551)

Image Count
When viewing the image count from the Acquire worklist, the count will include both
images acquired on the Image Suite system in addition to images that have been
imported. The imported images can only be seen at the PACS. (190484)

Burn Annotation to Image Data

The user must restart the system after changing the configuration of “Burn annotation
to image data” rather than logging out and logging back in to save the changes.

TQT
When performing TQT, the user must first choose the TQT type, and then insert the
cassette because there are times when the scan button will become disabled causing the
cassette to be stuck in the scanner. If this happens, manually eject the cassette and start
over. (205757)

Text Size on Film

When the user adjusts the text size under Print Configuration > Environmental
Settings > Font Size, the text size on the film may remain unchanged. If you
experience this issue, please contact your local Carestream Service representative.
(203889)

Web PACS Changing Password

On the change password page, use the tab key to move the cursor to the next row. Turn
off “Caps Lock”. (221068)

End Study –Acquisition

After accepting images on the Acquisition screen, clicking on “end study” multiple times
will cause a Microsoft error, "Framework Microsoft Application is not responding".
Wait for the system to respond. (222774)

8
Web PACS Transferring Images to Third Party PACS
The defect only happens on systems in Finland.

When exporting a study in Web PACS on Windows 10, the transfer button does not
transfer the study. There is no message displayed and the status does not change on the
worklist. (223523)

Web PACS Printing a Report

The defect only happens on systems in Thailand.

Select the study and load it into the image viewer, click create report, go to report
preview, click the Print Button on the report preview page and the print task stops
running. Internet Explorer error displays. (221868)

Acrobat Adobe Reader and the printer driver are installed.

When using Acrobat Adobe Reader for Reports in the Web PACS, you must configure
the Acrobat Adobe security preferences by opening Acrobat Adobe and selecting
Edit > Preferences > Security (Enhanced). Uncheck the box “Enable Protected
Mode at startup”.
