I N T E R I O R S
ABOUT ME
My name is Natasha Schartz. I will be graduating in April 2018 with an AAS
Degree in interior design from LDS Business College.

I have specialized in a variety of skills, ranging from selecting materials and

fabrics to hand drafting plans. These new skills will be very valuable for me as
I create a new image for my name in the design field.

I am excited to see where life leads me as I make it a goal to become the

designer that I have aspired to be. With that, I am someone that is responsible
and trustworthy. I love working with others in a team, to learn and push myself
to become a better designer. I value the insights I've learned from other
people which have helped me to perfect my experience over time.

ADA ART DECO HOME
CLIENT PROFILE
The Scott Family is a family of five. Mom, dad and three beautiful kids. They are, what
most call, the perfect family. Unfortunately they have had some health issues come
upon one of their family members. The mom, Shannon, was diagnosed with MS.
This requires an entire life style change, including a remodel of their home.

This project was given to my team to help us work with a specific design while keeping
and maintaining ADA codes.

I will go into more detail as we go about the other pages of this project., for what was to
be done to accommodate for their future needs while maintaining a home that doesn't
have the fell that someone is disabled.
With this floor plan, we
were given a space that
was already created. We
then were told which
walls needed to stay and
which walls could be
removed for this new
renovation. Going with
that knowledge, my team
and I then created a
space that worked well
for now and in the future.

CUDES TINY HOME
CLIENT PROFILE
The Cude family is based out of Salt Lake City, UT. They are a young couple
that are planning to start a family. I was given the opportunity to create a tiny
home for this couple. While meeting with them, I learned that they have a desire
to remain minimalist.

I was given restrictions and codes to follow. My focus was to create and
maintain an appealing and livable space.

then presented to the Cude Family

The image on the left is my drawing of a living space that was provided from a magazine.
I then recreated a realistic duplicate of this drawing in photoshop.
DRAWINGS
The provided drawings and paintings have pushed me past my
comfort zone in design on paper.

I specialized in creating a space work without the use of

technology. I gained the skill of creating an eye for color and
design. Once drawn, making sure the space looked pleasing to
the eye once rendering came into play.

OXFORD MANOR
CLIENT PROFILE
The Oxford Manor is a small apartment complex located in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah.

When my team and I got this assignment we were not expecting what we saw when we did our
first field measuring day. When you first walked into the building, the hallways were so narrow.

The day of our field measure we met up with Susan, owner of the Oxford Manor. Susan is a
professional business owner that loves to keep her renters happy as much as possible. Knowing
this she showed us what we were going to be working on. She took us to this closet area that then
went down into a room that held all of their electrical equipment along with a small coal room that
was off to the side.

Susan wanted to transform this space into something that her renters and their families would
enjoy to have in the building. My team and I got to thinking about what would be the most
effective thing to utilize this space. On the next two slides you will be able to see what we did.
MAIN FLOOR | HOSTING SPACE
This space was remodeled for the purpose to host events,
family parties and neighborhood meetings. The finish choices
were selected to reflect on the history of the building.
BASEMENT | STORAGE
To accommodate for the small apartment rooms and
their storage space, my team and I decided to utilize the
great space that wasn't being used down stairs. In this
space, we made it so that whoever needed more storage
space could rent out a storage unit. Off to the side of the
storage units are spaces for bikes to be stored, which can
also be rented out.

the chance to specialize in a couple things. Even
though our industry is changing and starting to use
more AutoCAD and Revit, the skill to know how to
construct construction documents by hand is still very
good to know.

FARMHOUSE BUNGALOW
CLIENT PROFILE
Jessica Wiggins is a hoot and a half. She loves to host parties, cook huge meals and
make people feel like they always have a place to go.

When talking with Jessica Wiggins, I learned that she is pretty much me. She describes
her life style as a Rustic Farmhouse meets Coastal Beach. This was a fun project to
work with because it not only pushed me to make sure that I get what my client wants
but to also maintain a space that she would still love to live in when she gets older. She
wants her home to be where the grand-kids grow up at.

While this project progresses, I have made sure that Jessica knows exactly what I am
doing every step of the way, if she desires to know. I am honest with my client and she
is honest with me. I hope to work with her again soon.
