A Little Bit More About Me
I am a music educator who happens to
specialize in teaching instrumental band
classes. I use the title “Music Educator”
very deliberately, as I see my role being
larger than simply one whom teaches
band.
Many times students’ music education
ceases in the fifth or sixth grade when
they begin to learn an instrument. The
instruction seems to shift from holistic
music education to single-instrument
based (or band) education. It’s my
mission to keep a child’s music
education continuing in full from K-12.
I aim to make the world a better place by
shaping students into ethical global-
citizens whom solve problems creatively
and learn to love music.
Music
I am an enthusiastic music educator with
a passion for helping every student
become successful with playing a
musical instrument. Playing a musical
instrument can be a lifelong activity and I
intend to start that spark and set their
passion for making music ablaze.
The following two statements are the
core of my teaching philosophy: “Be
Nice”, and “Do nothing to interfere with
your learning, the learning of others, or the
teachings of Mr. Lubbers.”
I see my mission as a teacher to be a
guide to my students throughout music
and life by being an example of the type
of person I wish they become, while
sharing my love of music.

students whom genuinely care
about each other creates the

The singlehandedly best way for
students to demonstrate learning
is through a variety of formal and
informal performances.
Lifelong Learning:
Playing a musical instrument
can be a lifelong activity. The joy
of music is something every
human being deserves. My
responsibility is to encourage the
students to continue to master
the instrument through life.
