Beginning the Lesson

5 Preparation for learning:

mins The teacher will prepare the class for the lesson by reminding them of procedures (calling
their attention, asking or answering questions, etc…)

5 Overview:
mins The teacher will give an overview of the new unit, and of the lesson explaining what we
will do for the entire class time. Teacher will also give a background on what
measurement is and how it is connected to the central idea: Communities are organized to
meet people’s needs.

5 Brainstorm:
mins The teacher will ask the students to brainstorm together on what is essential in a
community, then from there, connect it to Measurement (Geography)

Developing the Lesson

30 Perimeter:
mins Teacher will teach the class what perimeter is and how to calculate it.

Board work:
Teacher will ask selected students to work on some problems on the board.

Closing the Lesson

25 Worksheets:
mins Teacher will distribute worksheets to students to be able to practice how to calculate it.

Recap:
After the students are done with their worksheets, the teacher will recap the lesson.
