During the first week of my TP at PYP, I set a plan to observe my

MST’s planning method for her lessons. I focused on observing how

she moved gradually between the important points of the class. I noticed

that she was following the 5e’s strategy to create a successful lesson.

She started with engaging the students by asking them brainstorming

questions. Then, she more to the explore stage to prepare the students

for the main lesson. She used visual, kenesticic and auditory activities

to support her explain stage. Then, she moves to the elaborate and then

they evaluate to estimate the student's understanding. I was also

focusing in the students personalities. Observing students personalities

will help in creating a strong relationship between the student and the

teacher also, this will give me the ability to deal with them easily during

the lessons. However, I start observing math classes during the week

and I also get the chance to help my MST in explaining addition and

subtractions lesson which can help me practice and prepare myself for

the next week In addition, I was scaffolding the information for students

who were having hard understanding to make the information easy and

clear. Moreover, I asked my MST about the planning of the lessons; she

said that the first step of creating a successful lesson is to organize the

time between each activity because math lessons need more

organization and preparation. For example, some students need more

time to solve mathematical problems so the teacher will give each

student the chance to understand and learn. Furthermore, I observed

different classes during the week such as Arabic and PE. Also, I was

helping my MST in taking students to the morning assembly and

playground area, I also helped her in teaching students spelling words

and guided reading in the English class, In the guided reading part I was

asking students some questions about the cover page, characters, and

events of the story to develop students' imagination and understanding.

Unlike, the weakness of this week was that the teacher didn’t use Math

tools to explain the lesson, she was depending on the lecturing method

for explaining the main concepts of the Math lesson. They are primary

school students and they need Math tools to help them connect between

the book and the real application. Even thought she was applying

different activities for the different learning style, but she didn’t use it

well. The activities was not related to the lesson. Also, she is not using

good reinforcement strategies to encourage the stations, so, the students

were not motivated during the classes.
