Somerville High School is a four year, public school serving approximately 1,200 students, 50% of whom speak
a language other than English at home and 20% of whom receive English Language instructional supports
ESL Student Teacher Fall 2017 - Present
● Collaborate with supervising practitioner to develop developmentally appropriate curriculum materials
that align with current research and best practices, for two sections of an ESL class serving students of
various language backgrounds in grades 9-12
● Utilize a variety of data to give individualized student feedback and differentiate for all learner needs
during academic language instruction in reading, writing, speaking and listening
● Assist in facilitation of a monthly language exchange program between Spanish and English learners

Charles Sposato Graduate School of Education, part of Match Education, prepares novice teachers for
schools serving low-income populations and disseminates innovative approaches to teacher preparation.

● Integrated a novice student teacher into our classroom’s culture, lesson planning and teaching
● Provided twice weekly coaching sessions aimed at improving classroom management, content teaching,
