After courting Courtney for a few weeks, she finally trusted me enough to allow me into her Home.

This
was a major step for her .Only a few people were ever allowed to cross the threshold of her doorstep
into her domain into her home. It was her “bubble”. The first one to greet me as I walked into the
apartment was Nakiah. She was a beautiful ebony colored cat. Her big eyes looked me up and down as
she looked at Courtney as if to say” It was about time!”. “Now where’s my food?” Finally, after she was
taken care of, she came to look at me and checked me out in her feline way and looked me up and down
and came a little closer. She had been Courtney’s guardian and friend since she was 16 and had been
with her through a lot. Nakiah was a gift to Courtney during the time her Mother and Father had
decided to go separate ways, so Nakiah came to be her comfort. She watched many come and go and it
was going to take more than a rub on her back to win her over. Now that it had been 3 years since
Mama Doris had passed and it was just her job now to look after Courtney. After a year passed, I knew
for sure I had found my Soul mate and I wanted to make it official. Why waste time when I knew I had
found the right one. So I decided to make my intentions known and proposed. Thankfully, she had
accepted. I moved into the ”bubble” and Nakiah welcomed me with open paws. She would come into
my lap and sit for a minute until I rubbed her back and then she was off to handle her cat business. I
wondered how old she was in cat years but I couldn’t figure out that kind of math. Every time we took
her to the shelter she couldn’t wait to come back but this time it was different. They said they needed
help getting her out, she was throwing a cat fit and hissing. Courtney went to get her and finally coaxed
her back in the cage. Then just like that she was back to her old self and we were on our way home.
