Product Progress Assessment

Introduction and Statement Purpose

The goal for my original work is a product that will showcase all of the information I

have learned in the field of Dermatology. My original work product will be a How To Take Care

of Your Skin video. I had this idea asft multiple questions from friends, family member and

people I met at the Winter Showcase. All of them want to know the best way to take care of their

skin. The information I have for this video is from the knowledge I have, my research

assessments, my textbook, and from shadowing Dr. Dharamsi multiple times. I want this video to

showcase all that I have learned his year, my passion for dermatology and my desire to help

people.

Interviews

Objective

The purpose of each interview is to give the viewers some background information of the

interviewees and also for the viewers to find a person to relate to. This interview will also give

Dr. Dharamsi some background information of the interviewees and give the best solutions for

that person.

Description of Process

I am so grateful that my classmates have all agreed to help me out for my video. I tried to

find people who had some of the most common skin disorders. Each interview will consist of

questions like, “what does your skincare routine consist of? What cause flare ups? How would

you describe your skin? What kind of products do you use?” etc. For Dr. Dharamsi I want her to

address the different skin types, skin conditions, how to treat them, sunscreen, good product, etc.

The interviews of my classmates will be done at school. I’ll ask them the questions and try and

get all of the information from them. And Dr. D, I’ll email her the topics and questions the day

before her interview, the same will be done with Carrie.

When the videos are edited, the introduction of the classmate will be first and then the

answers. It’ll be like a a Buzzfeed video. Instead of having the interview of one person play, it’ll

be their response to question 1, then the next. The interview questions are shown below:
Questions for the interviewees
1. How would you describe your skin?
a. normal/dry/oily/combination
b. red/dull/glowing
c. sensitive/non-sensitive
d. hyper/hypopigmentation
2. What are some of the ways you take care of your skin?
3. What kind of products do you use? How often? Do they work for you? Or if you do
nothing to your skin, how do you maintain it? (keep it healthy)
a. List your skincare routine and the order in which you apply them.
4. Do you about any of the ingredients that are in the products you use?
5. Is there anything about your skin or skincare routine that may worry/concern you? Please
explain.
Questions for Grace (eczema)
1. How long have you had eczema?
2. What cause it to flare up/irritate?
3. How do you keep it calm?
4. What products do you use?
5. Do you about any of the ingredients that are in the products you use?

Result/Conclusion

The interviews of my classmates went well! The interviews were taken at school. These

interviews helped me to get a different view on people with these skin conditions. Each of these

interviews were also very informative. I plan to do like a slideshow kind of video with the

questions. It would be question 1 and everyone’s answer then the next question, not an interview
then the next. I think the slideshow video would be interesting to do because you can compare

the interviewees answers to one another's.

When I interview Dr. Dharamsi, I plan to show her the interviews of my classmates so

she has information and she can talk about more stuff, such as the products they use and how

they clean their faces etc.

Wangui’s Part:

“Hi guys! My name is Wangui and in this video I will address how to take care of your skin.”
“First of all, let’s discuss some of the main skin conditions dermatologists see. Acne, eczema,
and rosacea.” {Here, I will have pictures inserted to first talk about the skin and why these
conditions appear and why they appear on the areas they do.}

Explanation of the skin:

Explanation of acne, eczema:

Information from research assessments, documents Dr. D has given me and my textbook.
