Course Description: The design of amplifier circuits is a basic requirement for
different areas, such as instrumentation, communications, or power electronics. This
course is intended to study the use of MOSFET and BJT in the design of practical
amplifier circuits. First, the differential pair configuration, which is the basic circuit
building block utilized in the design of IC amplifiers, is presented. Then, design and
frequency-response analysis techniques of single and multistage amplifiers are
studied. Finally, the course includes feedback concepts applied to amplifiers and
amplifier design for large signals and large amounts of power. Each topic in the course
is analyzed through analytical, simulation, and practical exercises.
