CHAPTER V

Findings

Research problem 1 on whether sex has any relation with senior students punctuality

during immersion revealed that sex in the study area has relation to senior students late coming

to their working area. The study shows that female senior student late comers than boys. Reasons

could be hypothesized as to why female TVL 4 CCS senior students come to working area; it

may be for house work such as cooking, washing of kitchen utensils, and giving care to the

younger ones at home, also due to nature of female in terms of self-esteem. Research problem

1.2 is on whether age has any relation with TVL 4 CSS student’s punctuality during immersion.

The study revealed that age is there’s no significant effect to the punctuality of TVL 4 CSS

senior student because is just a number no matter how old the person their commitment to

perform and to do the job is not based on age. To further more there’s some effect that age can

affect punctuality in term of maturity this could be related to adolescent stage in the life of the

students. Adolescent age is always related to misbehavior and less fear of repercussion of

actions. Students at this stage feel they can have control over themselves, clever enough to

manufacture lies and decide on what their future should be with the aid of peer groups. In

addition the senior students could have the feeling that when they come late to school they may

not be punished after all the perfects on duty are their friends, thus do not fear anything.

Research problem 1.3 the finding revealed that transportation can affect the punctuality of a

student or person because of traffic and harder to pick buses in rush hour also home therefore this

cloud be cause for the TVL 4 CSS student late coming to their working area. Among the second

reason(s) was long distance to school. This makes students go to school late, in corroboration

Adedayo and Omoluwa (2008) found that school location in Ondo state were wrongly done, that

88.92% , 95.78% and 96.03% of secondary schools in Ondo Central, Ondo North and Ondo

South respectively are not located in the rural areas. While the urban areas had100 percent of all

schools. This calls for reduction of politics in education on school mapping especially between

the rural and urban centers. Research question 1.4 revealed that family have significant effect to

the punctuality of TVL 4 CSS student during work immersion in term of financial status the

willingness of the student to learn or to attend the work immersion but their parent can’t provide

their income because they are needy family to support financial needs of their kids can cause
absenteeism that affect the immersion performance and punctuality. The study was revealed that

the punctual have significant effect to the performance of the TVL 4 CSS during work immersion

the supervisor of the company may base their grade on the performance and behavior of the

immersion student. The punctuality of the student reflects on the attendance, completed task and

being on time

Summary of Findings

 Study revealed that transportation, Family status in term of financial can affect

punctuality of TVL 4 CSS student.

 Most students late-comers’ parents belong to low financial status

 punctuality has have significant effect to the immersion performance

Conclusion

It is important for all learners to consider punctuality is important on our daily life and

working performance coming. Being punctual make your life free from stress, a lot of

opportunities in term of development and organized. Punctuality of a Student to school or

immersion area could change him to become a better individual who uses his time judiciously in

future More commitment on the side of the students to education is needed to better their

academic performance. Being on time shows that you are reliable and dependable and that you

can be trusted. These are important qualities at are looked for by both friends and employers. It

also shows that you are able to successfully organize and manage your time. Punctuality is also

good for your wellbeing. If you allow plenty of time to complete a task or reach a destination,

you can carry this out without having to rush or put yourself under stress. Having to hurry at the

last minute can be very stressful. Being on time also shows respect for the person you are

meeting or your place of work. It demonstrates that you value other people’s time and respect

important social rules and conventions. Being late can also be disruptive. Arriving late to work or

to a class disturbs colleagues or fellow students who may have already settled into their work.

Recommendation

• Parents especially mothers should reduce work giving to female students at home, especially in

the morning hours within which students get ready for school. And that parent should endeavor

to reduce transportation challenges to their children especially those living in per distance to

schools.

• School managers and teachers should encourage students through counseling and admonition
during assemblies on the damages of late coming to school. This should be with special

references to adults and senior students.

• Governments at all levels, Non- Governmental Organizations should provide free services

(buses) to the learners with the view to helping the parents with low economic status.

• Government at all levels should assign the learner’s nearby to their home place. This would

reduce students home working distance, thus reduce students late coming to school.
