Third Sunday of Easter

Today’s gospel depicts the disciples as “terrified, disbelieving and wondering.” Yet Jesus stood
among them and said: “Peace be with you.” What was he thinking? Terror and peace just
don’t go together, do they? Yes – in the life of faith. No matter how difficult or messy the
situation may be the Risen Lord will be with us offering peace and quieting our fears.
My Dear Parishioner, It warms my heart to see your great generosity. We
set a goal of $7,500 for our Lenten Almsgiving Collection for Barberton
Area Community Ministries (BACM). We have come to the conclusion of
our collection and have well exceeded our goal collecting over $10,000.
The success of our almsgiving will benefit many in need in our Barberton
Community, especially through food distributed through the BACM food pantry.
Thank you and May God continue to bless all of you.
Christ’s Peace!
Fr. David Majikas

St. Augustine School is accepting enrollment for the 2018-19 school year. St. Augustine offers
a small-school environment with a rigorous academic curriculum rooted in Catholic teaching
that will prepare your child for success in high school and beyond. For parishioners who feel
we are not an affordable option, we accept the EdChoice Expansion Scholarship. This is an income-based
scholarship from the state that covers tuition for students in kindergarten through fifth grade if your
income is within 200% of the federal poverty line. For example, if your family of four makes $50,200 or
less you would qualify for this scholarship, which would follow your son or daughter through high
school. For more information, or to schedule a tour, call the school at (330)753-6435.
