Goals for 2016-2017 school year
Aspirational Goal
● Measurable Objective 1: During the 2015-16 school year our student attendance rate
was, 95.30%. For the 2016-17 school year our goal is to show an increase of 0.5% , to
95.80%.
○ Perfect attendance award ceremony per marking period
○ End of the year perfect attendance ceremony for students/parents
○ Attendance Club with Stephanie
○ AST Meeting-Bringing parents to meetings, home visits.
● Measurable Objective 2: Utilizing the School Climate’s committee’s focus of increasing
positivity, preparedness, and peacefulness, Pangborn will decrease school and bus
referrals by a minimum of 5% for the 2016-17 school year.
○ Utilize PAWS Card Rewards
○ Positive Reinforcements/Monthly Rewards
○ Peace Circles
○ Monthly Panther Time

- There is no consistency on how staff is utilizing PAWS Cards


- 14 % refer to the Pangborn Promise all the time
- 28 % refer to the Pangborn Promise occasionally
- 58 % refer to the Pangborn Promise seldomly
- Overall most staff felt that students can restate the Pangborn Promise but do
not truly know what it means or follow it
- Boosting morale by: positive notes/rewards for staff, PAWSome awards,
- Many staff want consistent rewards for students who are following the promise

PAWS Cards Bus: Blue Tickets
- Each bus driver will have a bucket for their bus

- Bus drivers will have a PD in which they are given instructions on how to
utilize these tickets

-Members of School Climate will be assigned a bus to help give out and reward
positive students

-Each time the bucket is filled, the entire bus will earn a reward.
PAWS Cards Cafe: Yellow Tickets
- Each team will have an individual bucket so when students receive a ticket,
they place it in the appropriate bucket

-Staff needs to be sure to check off which 3P the student(s) are demonstrating

-Students need to be sure to place their name on their ticket

-Each Friday 10 names will be drawn out of each team bucket and read on
morning announcements to go to the VIP lounge which will start in September
PAWS Cards Classroom: Green Tickets
- Teachers must check off what student is receiving the ticket for (prepared,
positive, peaceful)

-One Friday a month ,there will be a school wide activity reward that students
pay to participate

-Students will be required to pay that specific amount of tickets, the day before
the reward/activity

-Teams will need to collaborate to “house” students who have not earned
enough tickets to participate

-Students will have to pay to attend Frenzy and quarterly events as well
Menu of Incentives : Students Pay

● One Friday a month, students will be able to pay tickets to participate in school
wide reward/activity.
● Students will be required to pay that specific amount of tickets, the day before
the reward/activity
● Teams will need to collaborate to “house” students who have not earned
enough tickets to participate
Monthly Reward: No Referrals

- Student who have no referrals for the month will participate


- Students who have received referrals will need to be “housed” somewhere the
team decides
- Schedule will be created for those activities as needed (snowball fight, dance
party, etc.)
- Admin will email out a list of students who received referrals and cannot
participate ahead of time

First Monday of each month at 2:00(exception all of August-September: every
Monday)

December/May: Caring-Empathy

Golden Panther Award

Golden Panther Award is taking place of the Peace Ambassador Award

Awarded to individual students

Students will attend Character Count Ceremony each month

These students will be able to attend the VIP Lounge one time that month

met their expected grade level lexile target. In the 2016-2017 School Year 77% of
students in grades 1-5 will meet or exceed the expected grade level lexile target.

● Measurable Objective 2: In the 2016-2017 School Year 70% of Pre-K students will be
reading on a level A based on the F&P Assessment or at a Stanine of 4 on the Concepts
About Print by the end of the year. 75% of Kindergarten students will be reading on a
level D based on the F&P Assessment or a Stanine of 4 based on the Concepts About Print
Assessment by the end of the year.

spring of students who met the expectation of common grade level assessments, focusing on
CCSS Standards RL/RI 4 and RL/RI 9. In 2016-2017 _____% of students will meet or exceed the
established target.

● Measurable Objective 1: All classroom teachers and co-teachers will participate in an after
school PD session on Stride Academy leading to performance evidence by creating a
minimum of one formal assessment each marking period that will be administered to students
utilized toward differentiated instruction in the area of math or reading.
