OCIUS is a separate programme that will run side by side with your till. When the credit card
function is activated a number of screens will pop up over your till face. Simply follow the
instructions to complete the transaction
1.
When you first start up the till double click this icon

This box will appear. Select start communication by pressing ENTER on
your keyboard
3.
Enter your log in ID and press ENTER
4.
Enter your pin number and press ENTER
5.
Check for Updates? Press 2 for No unless you
have been advised otherwise.

You can now log into the till as normal. If you have forgotten to start up Ocius before starting
up Xpos you can minimize the window using the icons in the top right hand corner
Then start the process as per page 3
Complete the sale as normal selecting the credit card option on your till. When you have
confirmed the amount the message below will appear at the bottom of the screen

Ring the sale through as before choosing the credit card option as tendering type.
When the above message appears choose CASH for the cash back option by
pressing the on the till

Process the sale through as normal selecting the credit card payment

If you are using a touch screen the letter A acts as a toggle between
numbers and letters similar to writing a text message. For example
NG10 would be:
5 - A twice (N) 3 - A once (G) 1 0
N is the second letter listed on number 5
G is the first letter on number 3

An authorisation code will be issued which will also be printed out on your merchant
receipt
Now print the receipts off checking each one has printed correctly before continuing.

Topic : Refunds
To issue a refund process through the till as normal (see till manual) selecting REFUND
and the credit card for tender type

Ask the customer to remove the card. The same message will
appear on the credit card terminal. On refunds the customer
pin number is not required as the system requires a signature
instead.

If the customer would like to continue with their current credit card call the bank on the
telephone number provided. Once you have got through to the operator you will be asked
some questions before being asked to hand over the phone to the customer. The customer
will be asked some security questions. Once the bank is satisfied the phone will be returned
to you and you will be issued an authorisation code

The Customer has 3 attempts to in put the correct pin number. If on the 3rd attempt it is
still wrong the card will be locked and can only be unlocked by the bank.
If the customer removes the card too early after inputting their pin number the transaction
will also be declined. On each occasion a receipt will be printed for your records.

Should there be a problem with the customer receipt and the operator hasn't checked it
before moving on the following method must be used:
