1. INTRODUCTION

This document is meant to outline the procedures that requires how to successfully install and validate
McAfee Agent 5.0.5 installation.

McAfee Agent is installed on the managed nodes and perform communication with the McAfee ePO
managed server.

3. INSTALLATION PREREQUISITES

McAfee Agent 5.x+ supports all version of Windows operating systems up to Windows Server 2016, and all
commercially available virtual platforms.

McAfee Agent 5.0.5 for Windows needs the following system requirements to be met:
 Installed disk space – 50 MB (minimum), excluding log files
 Memory – 512 MB RAM (minimum)
 Processor speed – 1Ghz (minimum)

Installation requires the FramePkg.exe to be present.

The binary wraps all necessary information, and should not require any additional user input to call back tot
he McAfee ePO server.

Host server should be able to call be tot he EPO server using port TCP-8443, TCP-443, and TCP-80.

4. INSTALLATION PROCEDURES

 Execute the FramePkg.exe binary

 Click OK

5. SERVICE VALIDATION PROCEDURES

2. Validate communication

 C:\ProgramData\McAfee\Agent\logs folder is created

 macmnsvc_<hostname>.log file is created
 macmnsvc_<hostname>.log contains information about component successfully start and running
messages – see the example below
