1.The teacher begins class by reminding the students
of their vocabulary words and telling them they will
be making a storybook.
2. The teacher explains what a story book is and
shows the students an example she has made.
3. The teacher shows them how to make one: edit,
insert pictures, draw, write, etc.
4. The teacher will guide everyone to log on and make
sure no one has questions about the assignment.
5. The teacher will walk around the classroom making
sure everyone is on the same page and no one needs
help.

Students:
1.The students will listen to instructions carefully and
ask any questions before getting started.
2. The students will log onto mystorybook.com and
begin to make a book with their vocabulary words
3. Students will use pictures and writing to explain
their three vocabulary words to the best of their
ability
4. Students will make a sentence using all three
vocabulary words for the very last page.

Students will be graded on their knowledge of the

Directions for MyStoryBook Project

1. Log into the computer using your student ID and password


2. Click on the internet explorer icon “e” at the bottom of the page.
3. In the search bar at the top, type in www.mystorybook.com and click enter
4. Find the icon that says “log in” and click on it
5. In the “email” box type rtrai002@odu.edu and in the “password” box type traino97
6. In the middle of the page click on “create a storybook”
7. On the first page, title your story and make sure you put your name on it.
8. When you click on the textbox, there are icons above that will let you change the font “A”,
change the text size “ T”, align your text (multiple lines on top of each other), change your text
color (teardrop), and even move the text box “”
9. To make a new page, click the right arrow on the right side of the paper.
10. Each page you create should explain one vocabulary word; community, population, and
transportation
11. To create a new text box, click on the “text” icon on the left side of the screen, you can also
choose “items”, “draw”, and “scene” to make your storybook unique
12. If you need more pages, there is a button on the right that says “add page”, click that when you
need to start a new page before the back cover page.
13. When you are finished explaining the vocabulary words, make a complete sentence using all
three words on the last page. **Do not copy my example**
14. You DO NOT have to make a “Back Book Cover” page.
15. When you are finished making your storybook, click “finish” at the top right of the screen, a box
will pop up, click “finished story”, then you want to click “publish”, and on the next slide click
“next”, when it asks you to print it click “skip for now”
16. If you forget to add something, you can always go back and “edit story”
