Computer with Pentium processor
VGA display board
Mouse / keyboard
32MB RAM
12MB free hard-disk capacity
CD-ROM drive
Windows 95 or higher
3. Introduction
The purpose of the CPM program is to record the closure data
of an ELK01 / ELS01 that is connected to a personal computer.
The data can be stored on the hard disk or printed. The data
can also be expanded and printed at a later date.
4. Typographical conventions
Typefaces and symbols in the handbook:
{Key} Names of keys are written in this way.
(Command) Windows commands and menu entries are
written like this.
[My entries] This is the form used for entries that you must
make using the key board. (The brackets are
not part of your entry.)
5. Installation
1.) Put the CD in the drive. If the Autorun function is activated
for your drive, the set-up program will start automatically. If the
Autorun function is not active, so that the set-up program does
not start, proceed as follows:
a) Select (START) - (RUN)
b) Enter [Drive:SETUP] , and confirm with (OK).
Once the serial interface has been selected and a data file
opened, data recording through the serial interface can be acti-
vated. When you do so, the ELK01 / ELS01 should be con-
nected.
7. Screen layout
In the upper part, you will see the menu bar; some menu items
are not active at all times (see 'Menu', below). Further down, you
will find the fields : File, Infotext, Date, Closures, Title.
File: shows the name of the data file that is currently open.
Date: the date of the current data file is displayed. This informa-
tion can be changed subsequently!
Title: this text serves as the description / title for the data file.
When the data table is open, it is displayed below the title in tabu-
lar form. The last line, the status line, indicates whether recording
is active (RUNNING) or inactive (WAITING). After that, the COM
port currently selected is displayed.
8. Menu
A menu item can be selected by clicking on it with the mouse, or,
using the keyboard, by opening the main menu with the (ALT)
key + the underlined letter of the required menu, and then, in the
sub-menu, just pressing the underlined letter without (ALT).
(File New)
Creates a new data file. If the file name is already in existence,
you will be asked if this file should overwritten. If you answer this
question with (YES), all existing data in the file will be erased!
(File Open)
Opens an existing data file so that its contents can be inspected,
more information can be added, or for the data to be printed.
(File Save)
This function is only used to store additional information which
may have been modified (title, date, info-text) in a separate file
(MPSystem.DB). During recording, the data file itself is continu-
ally updated, and therefore does not need a separate storing
operation.
File (Print)
Prints the data in the current data file immediately on the system
printer, taking into account the filter setting (View all/OK/NO-
OK).
The next 4 switches are for navigation and only become active
when there are several pages (1. First; 2. Previous; 3. Next; 4.
Last).
The next switch gives access to printer setup options. With the
next you can start printing. Then there are two switches with
which the file / report can be stored as a (*.QRP) file and loaded
again. The close button (Close) ends the print preview.
(File Exit)
Closes the file. If modified additional information (Title / Date/ In-
fotext) has not yet been saved, you will be asked if they should
be saved.
(Edit Title)
Enables changing of the additional information "Title".
(Edit Infotext)
Enables changing of the additional information "Infotext".
(View all)
All closure data in the currently opened data file are displayed.
(View OK)
Only closure data with the status 'OK' in the currently opened
data file are displayed. This filter affects the print preview and

opened data file are displayed. This filter affects the print pre-
view and print outs.
