Learning Activity #1: Station Games: Badminton
There will be 4-6 people in each station (depending on attendance). The stations
will be approximately 5 minutes long. The goal will be to complete all 6 stations in
the class time, however, if stations are going really well, then extra time may be
allowed for those students. Everyone must complete the self assessment before
leaving the gym today as it is their summative assessment for the unit.

Station 1: Target Practice (Knock the Towers)

The station will be set up quite similar to the first class we did this activity in.
pinnies will be used as targets for the 7s. they will get 1 point for each pinnie they
can hit by serving the birdie over the net.

Station 2: Continuous Badminton

This will be run exactly the same as when it was used for warm up. There will be
the school record on the board that they can try and beat to give them some
motivation. This is a test of their accuracy and skill (being able to hit the birdie in
an appropriate manner for your partner to get it) as well as some cardio activity.

Station 3: Kings court (modified) Doubles

There will be four square
Station 4: Kings court (modified) Singles

Station 5: Drop Shots

Play doubles against the other two students. Games are to 21 but you get 2 points
for every successful drop/net shot

Station 6: Goals/Self Reflection

In this station, they will be given their goal sheet and a self assessment sheet.
They will have to answer the questions on the sheet and hand that in to me at the
end of the station. They must reflect on their goals and how their etiquette and
overall skill has improved over the last 4 weeks

Assessment/Differentiation: there will be an assembly in 2B for one of the grade 7

classes so there will only be about 15 minutes of instruction time. They will do
their self assessment and then they can rally with their classmates until the
assembly starts.
