Wellness Theme: Balance

Course Request Season is Approaching!

The counselors will be visiting 9th, 10th, and 11th grade classes the rst three weeks of March to
discuss course selection for the 2018-2019 school year. We will be providing students with a
transcript, four year plan and instructions on how to use the course request system in MyPlan.

Career Forums
The Westview PTSA is pleased to o er two Career Forums this Winter. Students will have an
opportunity to meet professionals and ask questions in small groups. These events are free, but
registration is recommended.

How do you nd a career in communications? What skills and work experience will I need to
succeed in this eld? What do communications people do? Our speakers are all skilled in
communications. This forum will have three break out sessions so your students have time to
nd out about di erent career paths. Whether your student enjoys social media, print media,
television or behind the scenes, are bilingual or enjoy law and public relations, our speakers
have a wealth of knowledge to share.

Mid-Year Reports & Transcripts


Seniors, many of the colleges you have applied to may require a mid-year report. If you applied
to colleges using the Common Application, they will most likely require a mid-year report, which
includes your term 1 grades. For all other colleges please check your individual student portals
to see if there are any application items still needed to complete your application. Mid-year
reports are also be referred to as semester 1 grades, updated senior year transcript, etc.

In order to have your counselor submit your mid-year report, please complete this form and
submit it to your counselor ASAP. Please ensure that all questions on the form are answered. If
you have questions please see your counselor.
You're half-way done with your senior year! Enjoy these last few months, they will go by fast!

2018 National Youth Science Camp
The California Department of Education (CDE) is pleased to announce that applications are open
for the 2018 National Youth Science Camp (NYSC) for high-achieving, science-oriented students.
The NYSC is o ered at no cost to participants. All educational and recreational programming as
well as meals, lodging, and round-trip air passage on scheduled airlines are provided free of
