Learning Central Focus

Lesson Plan Title: Test Day

Grade Level: 5th

Central Focus: Students will learn how to use the turtlehead method in order to solve
math problems.

Content Standard:
MGSE5.NBT.5 Fluently multiply multi-digit whole numbers using the standard algorithm
(or other strategies demonstrating understanding of multiplication) up to a 3-digit by 2-
digit factor.

Student Learning Goal(s)/ Objective(s):

Students will complete a short test to access their skills and knowledge over the
standard.

Skills/procedures:

The students will independently complete a test.

Instructional Strategies and Learning Tasks

Launch: 5 Minutes

To get the students attention, I will start the class by taking role. Next I will ask if the
students have any questions regarding the material they are about to be tested over.

Instruction: 5 Minutes

I will explain how many questions are on the test, where they will put the test when they
are done, and to beginning reading when they are finished with their test.

Structured Practice and Application: 50 Minutes

The student’s will independently complete a 30 questions math test over the standard.

Closure: 5 Minutes

I will end the class by making sure I have everyone’s examines and asking if the
students have any questions.
