Love Your Enemies

John 3:18-21 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned
already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the
condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because
their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his
deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made
manifest, that they are wrought in God.

1 Corinthians 1:18-30 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us
which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will
bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the
disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For after that in the
wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to
save them that believe. For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: But we preach
Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which
are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. Because the
foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For ye see your
calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are
called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen
the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and
things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things
that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made
unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

2 Timothy 3:11-13 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what
persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. Yea, and all that will live godly in
Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving,
and being deceived.

Matthew 5:38-48 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I
say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the
other also. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.
And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. Give to him that asketh thee, and
from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away. Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou
shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that
curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute
you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the
evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you,
what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do
ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which
is in heaven is perfect.
Galatians 5:22-24 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh
with the affections and lusts.

Matthew 7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest
they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

Romans 12:14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.

John 15:18-25 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the
world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of
the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not
greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my
saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because
they know not him that sent me. If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now
they have no cloke for their sin. He that hateth me hateth my Father also. If I had not done among them
the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated
both me and my Father. But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their
law, They hated me without a cause.

Matthew 5:9-12 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed are
they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye,
when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my
sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the
prophets which were before you.
