Universal Design for Learning (UDL): For the DLL students within the class, an audio recording of the activity
can be posted to the Discovery Education board in their home language, and can support those students as
they transition from their native language to English. To further enrich the learning experience, students can
visit the board as many times as they like, allowing more opportunities to gain a deeper understanding of the
content.
Lesson idea implementation: Students will gather to discuss the activity Telling Time. The teacher will use a
SMART Board to project the learning board and make visible to all learners. “We have been talking telling
time this week. I am going to show you how to use this tool practice telling time when you are not in the
classroom.” Students are required to watch 3 videos about time, answer questions, create a story and match
digital times to hands on a clock.
Summative assessment will be used by the teacher occasionally checking the tool’s board for completion
and accuracy. As an extension, the teacher will instruct the students to create a clock of their own. To provide
feedback, the teacher will ask students to present their clock to the class and tell a story using specific time
for the sequence of the events.

Reflective Practice: Being that this activity could be used to reinforce covered content, the Telling Time
activity will not only encourage students to analyze time, but allows the application of prior knowledge to the
real life experiences. To further this activity, students could experiment with rearranging the activities in the
