Course description: This course is designed to help you understand the basics of economics. We will be studying the way decisions
can affect the production, consumption, and transfer of wealth.

100%-90% A Quizzes 25%
89-80 B Homework 25%
79-70 C Tests/Quizzes 50%
69-60 D
< 60 F

Classroom Expectations
1. Respect everyone in classroom, yourself, your teacher, and the school!
2. Be on time. That means be in your seat when the bell rings.
3. Bring materials everyday. Textbook, notebook, pen/pencil.
4. Stay in your seat until the tone rings.
5. Use common sense.

PHONES: I do not want to see them unless we are doing something educational.
First time: I ask nice for you to put it away
Second time: I take it and give it back to you at the end of the hour.
Third time: I take it and turn it in to the front office and they can give it back to you
Fourth time: I take it and your parent/guardian comes and gets it from me.

ABSENCES
You are allowed 2 days for every 1 day you are absent to make up work. (Excused absences only) After 2 days you are allowed to
turn in late work up to a week and earn up to 50% of the points. After that week all grades will be turned to a zero. All homework
will be collected at the start of each hour. Anything turned in after the start of the hour will be considered late and worth half credit.
Work from unexcused absences will be considered as late work and worth only 50%. (I will change this depending on the situation)

If you are absent it is your responsibility to go to Google classroom and get the missing assignments.

Retakes for tests are given only under VERY special situations. Your best bet is don’t count on doing a retake.

Homework: Most of the time in this class homework is tuned in on the day of the test in a packet form. However, sometimes
homework will be collected the next day or after a weekend. Homework accounts for 25% of your overall grade.

Late homework may be turned in late at a penalty of 10% a day. There will be cutoff dates for the end of the quarter and the end of the
semester.

Quizzes: We typically have three types of quizzes. There is a vocab quiz for every unit. After about 3-4 weeks of watching the
news there will be a news quiz. Once a unit there will be a quiz on material covered (usually the first chapter of the unit). Quizzes
account for 25% of your overall grade.

Tests/Projects: Every unit will have a test on the material for the chapters in that unit. Tests are a combination of multiple choice,
true/false, matching, and short answer type of questions. You may also have to draw various models or graphs throughout the year.
Tests account for 50% of your overall grade.

Any projects completed in this class will be put into the test category for grading.

Study Aids: I do use quizlet.com as a review website. I usually put the links to the information on google classroom. You can access
my information by going to quizlet.com and searching JelacicA. This will get you going in the right direction.

I use google classroom and a place to put all of the assignments we are doing for each unit, a place to find links to videos we may
watch in class or a place for you to see the daily agenda.
There are too video series I use frequently in class. One is called “Economics Crash Course”. I’m sure you’re familiar with the crash
course type videos, they are very similar for economics as they are history. The other video series I use is called AC/DC Economics
by Mr. Clifford. I don’t show all his videos, but he does a great job explaining economic concepts.
