ACTION PLAN TO DEAL WITH ROAD ACCIDENTS
Following the upsurge in road accidents, the Presdent, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufe-Addo setup,
a Wiee-man committee comprising the ministers of Intenor, Transport and Roads ta develop @
plan to help curb the menace
‘The President after recerving and reviewing the committee's report has granted Executive
Approval for its immediate implementation,
Contained in the report are three key areas of action, these are,
4, Education:
Resource the National Road Safety Commission to scale up pubbc education and
sensitization on road safety with sn additional GHC.6.5 millien from the Road Fund.
2. Enforcement:
a. Enforcement of Raad Traffic Laws by the Petice through spot fines by autamation of
MTTD operations.
b. Pariner wilh prvate towing companies and Nationwide Traffic Management and
Enforcement Limited (NTMEL) to vigorously enforce regulations,
3. Engineering:
Resource the Ghana Highway Authonty, Department of Urban Roads and Deparment of
Feeder Roads with at least GHC 335 million a year to provide signage and road
markings for roads over a three (3) year period.

Commission and other road sector agencies to immadiately commence the enforcement of the
action pian 8s approved by the President
