Given Problem: Problem is to carry out the simulation of a wing, the
boundary conditions are as shown in the figure. In this analysis we
should the multiple analysis
1. Structural analysis
2. Modal Analysis

The wing has the boundary condition as it has fixed at the far end [A]
and pressure at [B] acting in upward direction with the magnitude of 5e-
003 MPa.

The Geometry is provided to us in the form of .IGES file.

The wing material is Titanium alloy, which is available in Ansys
material database.
Requirement: To carry out the analysis to obtain the 6 mode shape
result and list out maximum values at each modes.
Steps to carry out the Analysis:
1. Import the given geometry in static structural analysis
window in Ansys workbench.
2. Apply all boundary condition as given in the problem.
3. Solve the structural analysis and transfer the result into
Modal analysis and perform the frequency response
analysis as shown in below image.
Result ScreenShot:

Fig-1  Total Deformation for Structural analysis

Fig-2  Equivalent Stress for Structural analysis
Fig-3  Mode Shape 1 with 94.753 mm deformation and Frequency of 105.73 Hz
Fig-4  Mode Shape 2 with 94.315 mm deformation and Frequency of 510.55 Hz
Fig-5  Mode Shape 3 with 98.73 mm deformation and Frequency of 650.15 Hz
Fig-6  Mode Shape 4 with 197.45 mm deformation and Frequency of 1030.6 Hz
Fig-7  Mode Shape 5 with 111.96 mm deformation and Frequency of 1768.8 Hz
Fig-8  Mode Shape 6 with 107.95 mm deformation and Frequency of 2809.9 Hz
Observations/Conclusion:
1. Structural Analysis  from the result we get the maximum
deflection of .508 mm and max. von misses stress of
17.755 MPa which is very low from material (Titanium
Yield stress) i.e., 930 MPa
2. Frequency Response Analysis  from the modal analysis
we came to know the natural frequency of the structure in
given boundary condition, with different deformation shape
for different natural frequency.
i. We should design our part/product in such a way
so that it will not vibrate with the component
natural frequency so avoid the RESONANCE
condition.
ii. In this case we should design the aerofoil wing in
such a way that it should not vibrate with ~105
Hz, ~510 Hz …. And so on.
