Correct tuning

- Tune while hitting the string as strongly as you are going to play – do not play quietly!!!
o Tune while hitting the string repeatedly in short intervals! Do not just hit and then
tune while it fades.

- 1 fret of g string – g# note – must be tuned 15 cents flat!!! This is due to a flaw in guitar
design. That means whole g string should be slightly flat.
- From forums: ...OK, you can detune one string to make chords in ONE SHAPE sound more in
tune. Eg, detune your G by 14 cents, and all your E-form barres will be more perfecty in tune
(because you get a "pure" major 3rd between 4th and 3rd strings). But all your other shapes
will be more out of tune. Is that what you want?
