EAR TRAINING

- Sing along major scale

o Now only play the root and sing the scale, stop on any note and check the pitch is
correct
- STRATEGY 2 Hess
o Sing major scale but assign each note a number
o Sing different number patterns, e.g. 11 12 13 14 etc. Check for accuracy. Get this
right before moving on.
o Do the same for all keys
- Strategy 3 hess
o Singing arpeggios – strum C arpeggio C E G E C (returning after g), then sing. Then
only sing, without strumming.
 Repeat for minor arpeggio 1- b3 – 5, diminished 1 b3 b5 and augmented 1 3

- Strategy 4 hess
o Play all arpeggios of major scale 13531, 24642, etc. this will give you the chords of
the major scale.
o Now sing them, and use scale numbers when singing.
o Do the same for minor scale.
