Related Objectives (from prior lessons):

1.The students will be able to identify the bones on a skeleton by watching a video
and completing a group activity.

2.The student will be able to identify the different movable joints by completing a
foldable and watching a brain pop video.

3.The students will be able to apply their knowledge of the functions of joints in a
movement-based activity.

4.The students will be able to identify the different types of muscle and joint injuries
by completing a crossword puzzle.

5.The students will be able to explain ways to prevent muscle and joint injuries by
completing the inquiry activity.

Assessment:
Form groups and create a poster, video, or other student-created and teacher teacher-approved
project (other examples may be: songs, poems, games, etc)

Instructions:
Students will form groups of four and create a poster, video, or other teacher-approved project
about a chosen joint. The students will use their notes from class as well as research their assigned
joints . They will then present their project to their classmates.

Standards:
10.1.3.B: Identify and know the location and function of the major body organs and systems.

CC.1.4.3.V: Conduct short research projects that build knowledge about a topic.

Directions:
In groups of four you will create a poster, video, song, or other teacher-
approved project about your assigned joint. It is your group’s job to use
your knowledge from what we have learned so far as well as gather new
knowledge from the research that you do on your joint to create your
project. Make an engaging project to present to your classmates and
have fun doing it!
