Welcome to the Jogjakarta Public Library. Books can only be borrowed by members. Anyone who resides,
works, pays property taxes, or attends school in Jogjakarta, is eligible to be Library member. To be a member
you just simply register yourself in the front desk. You will be asked to fill a form, show your ID card, and pay
registration fee. Most books can be borrowed for 28 days. Borrowing can be prolonged once for 10 days if
no one else wants the book.

Vietnam Airlines Grows Its Business
Vietnam Airlines has come a long way since it started out in 1956 with a fleet of five small aircraft. Last year,
it took delivery of five Airbus A321s and signed a contract to buy ten Airbus narrow-bodied 321s of which
the first plane will be delivered in 2006. This July it signed an agreement with Boeing to purchase four 787
Dream liners. The expansion of Vietnam Airlines fleet which also includes new Boeing 777s and Airbus A321s
state of the art craft for regional travel is right on schedule.
In the first six months of 2005, the airline saw its passenger numbers increase by 25 percent, to almost 3
million. Over a third of those passengers are foreigners, and their ranks grew this year as well, by over 30
percent. Travelers are drawn by Vietnam Airlines strong domestic, regional, and international routes: the
airline flies to 16 domestic locations and 26 international destinations.

Mecca is Islam's holiest city, home to the Kaaba shrine and the Grand mosque. The city is known for the
annual Hajj pilgrimage, being one of the five pillars of Islam. In the 7th century, the Islamic prophet,
Muhammad, proclaimed Islam in the city. The city played an important role in the early history of Islam and
now it is an important trading center. After 966, Mecca was led by local Sharifs, until 1924, when it came

Perhatikan tense pada kalimat pertanyaan: "My friends and I loved (V 2/past)" ketika di sambung dengan conjuntion/kata sambung maka tense nya
harus sama. Dari 4 jawaban yang ada C lah yang bertense past.

seterusnya adalah pengembangannya)
A. Cari kata kuncinya dalam pertanyaan, yaitu: "feet". Karena pertanyaannya adalah tahun. cari angka yang menunjukkan tahun dan yang ada kalimat
feet nya.
C. Right on schedule maksudnya adalah tepat. Dikatakan tepat karena pembelian pesawat baru seiring dengan semakin meningkatnya penumpang.
D. Dalam kalimat "arranges the menu and ..." terdapat conjunction and. Itu artinya kalimat berikutnya harus pararel/sama kedudukannya. Kalau
sebelumnya V ing maka kalimat berikutnya harus V ing juga. Kalau kalimat sebelumnya menggungakan arranges maka jawaban yang tepat adalah
testes.
D. Percakapan antara operator agen travel dengan Olga. Kalimat "Oh yes, Miss Olga. I hope you and your family will have a wonderful time." Itu
artinya operator sudah tahu tujuan travel Olga dan tidak ada masalah dengan agen travelnya.
B. Treat (mentraktir). Kenapa kamu tidak mentraktir saya? saya lapar.

jumlah waktu seperti five years, 3 days, a week. Sedangkan since (sejak) itu adalah waktu tertentu, misalnya yesterday, 3 hours ago (ini bukan jumlah
waktu tapi waktu tertentu, yaitu 3 jam yang lalu).
D. Kata kerja yang jatuh setelah "to" tidak boleh berbentuk Verb ing, tidak boleh ditambah "S" seperti verifies, apalagi dibentuk V 2 seperti verified.
B. Lulusan SMK yang paling banyak (most) mendapatkan pekerjaan adalah pada tahun 2000 (lihat grafik dengan bagan yang berwarna biru).

A. kata sambung yang tepat adalah "meskipun". Namun meskipun inspite of dan despite juga berarti meskipun, mereka tidak dapat digunakan dalam
kalimat dengan susunan S+P, karena mereka hanya digunakan dalam bentuk phrase. Misal, Inspite of rich, she is not proud.
A. lebih giat (harder) berasal dari kata sifat hard (satu suku kata). 1 suku kata tinggal menambahi -er saja.
D. who setelahnya pasti kata kerja. Sedangkan yang dimaksud kalimat tersebut adalah yang rumahnya, maka jawabannya pasti whose. Misal, yang
anaknya bekerja di Singapure, yang mobilnya beroda 2 dsb.
B. Dita dan Dina sama-sama suka film tersebut, maka kalimat yang benar adalah so do I, karena like di sini adalah kata kerja (suka) buka kata sifat
(seperti).
