DEMOCRACY AS A CHANNEL OF ASPIRATION

The term Democracy comes from the Greek, demos meaning people and cratein which means
government or rule. Thus democracy means the government of the people. Democracy is a
government that comes from the people, by the people and for the people. I think democracy
itself is everyone free to express opinions or aspirations and we should also listen to the
aspirations of others. Especially the government officials who must listen to the aspirations of
the people. The aspiration listener must also make an opinion which he thinks is good for all
circles. The government must also have a policy for the people of a country. The government
also has a good opinion for the community and the state.

The system of contradiction is against Islam. Because this system puts the people as the source
of law or the people who represent it (such as MPs). Thus, the legal basis does not refer to Allah
Ta'ala, but to the people and their representatives. The benchmark does not have to deal with all
of them, but the most votes. The majority agreement will be a law that must be held by society
even though it is contrary to nature, religion and reason. With this system, issued rules may
abortion, marriage sesame types, bank interest, aborted the laws of the Shari'a, permissible
adultery and khamar. Even with this system, Islam and its devout adherents are fought.

The democracy in Indonesia is Pancasila democracy. Democracy a change in the old order into
the new order and entitled to give opinions according to their own desires for the sake of the
country. In Indonesia the movement of nationalism also aspires to the formation of a democratic
state of anti-feudalism and anti-imperialism with the aim of forming a social society. The
foundation of democracy is justice in the sense of open opportunity to all. Democracy is also the
freedom of man to union and assemble in conveying aspirations, but must conform to the
prevailing norms and obey the rules. For example, a protest must initially propose a permit for

Freedom in democracy that now has deviated far from Pancasila democracy which became the
guideline of Indonesian nation life. Such people have no leaders because the great power of the
people becomes the majority for this government's policy-makers. But unfortunately this great
power of the people is dominated by the people of mercenaries, the people who like to accept
bribes from corrupt and corrupt politicians, and also people whose intellectual level is low and
very easily influenced by mass leaders who are members of mass organizations of religious
who like to show off both in terms of strength and awesomeness (more like thugs than polite
and tolerant religious organizations).

Allah Ta'ala has preached in His Book, that the sealer of the law is only He alone, He is the best
that establishes the law. It is forbidden to associate it with the law and He proclaims that no one
is better than His law.

Hold fast to the Shari'ah of Allah Ta'ala in all its affairs. It is not lawful for anyone to establish
systems and guidelines that are not sourced from Islam. Among the consequences of their
pleasure to Allah as Rabnya, Islam as his religion and Muhammad sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam
as a prophet and his messenger is for the Muslims to hold fast to Islam, both zahir and inner
and so they glorify the Shariah of Allah and follow the sunna of the Prophet sallallaahu alaihi wa
sallam.
