Mr. Aizaz Asif is among the senior public policy/finance and governance specialists in Pakistan. With over 19 years of
experience, he has worked with leading international and national organisations in Pakistan. These include the UNDP, Asian
Development Bank, European Union, DAI (US & UK), Aga Khan Foundation, DFID and Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy etc. He has
extensive knowledge of development, institutional capacity building and legislative frameworks pertinent to public policy, good
governance and democratisation within the Pakistani and regional context. To his credit he has several policy & working papers
written on issues ranging from Budget Procedures, Public Finance, Local Government, Parliamentary reform and strategic planning
etc.

AIZAZ ASIF
Specific to his parliamentary work he has assisted the National Assembly, Senate and the four Provincial Assemblies of
Pakistan in developing the Strategic Plans of each legislature. During his work with the USAID funded Pakistan Legislative
Strengthening Project (PLSP), he was the recipient of the Global Innovation Award from a leading US & UK firm DAI for leading the
development of easy to understand National and Provincial Budget Analysis Tools (budget software) for parliamentarians.
With the parliament and the assemblies, he has done significant work on the committee system with focus on enhancing their
oversight role using tools such as public hearings and public petitions. He has also worked with some of the leading international
Deputy Secretary General PTI parliamentary practitioners who were engagedz with the parliamentary project(s) as short-term consultants.
Over the course of his parliamentary experience, Aizaz has developed personal contacts with staff of the assemblies and

accompanied parliamentary delegations to Canada and UK on study tours. With PLSP, he was instrumental in the establishment of
Rawalpindi Cantt the Pakistan Institute of Parliamentary Services (PIPS), now a fully functioning establishment that assists parliament and all
assemblies in parliamentary work.
Age: 45 His last key assignment with the EU Funded, Improving Parliamentary Performance in Pakistan (IP3) Project, was
