Program Context and Description
Program Title Beyond Statistics: National Conference on Qualitative
Research Methodologies on Action Researches
Conference Theme Strengthening Qualitative Research Capabilities of 21st Century
Educators for Proactive and Student-Centered Initiatives
Background and Rationale The constant need for more proactive and student-centered initiatives
propels educators to meet the demands of 21st century learners in the
context of an outcomes-based education. While it is true that
professional teachers alike are becoming aware and capable of
translating educational challenges into meaningful research-based
projects, there is an unceasing call for various and more competitive
approaches to really address the gaps and issues in the educational
institution through a solid technical know-how on qualitative
methodologies in research.

The conference on qualitative research methodologies on action


researches shall pave the way to unleashing the potential of 21st
century educators in managing action researches beyond statistics and
figures, but more so on lived-experiences and more personal data-
gathering activities.
Purpose and Objectives The main purpose of the conference is to provide a conducive learning
environment for 21st century educators on the most recent and
relevant qualitative research methodologies in order to develop more
sustainable student-centered management through qualitative action
researches.

Specifically, the objectives of this conference is to:

- Level-off with the current issues on classroom-based management


and the baseline capacities of educators in the development of action
researches;
- Present the breakthroughs and most recent forms of qualitative
research designs in the context of action researches;
- Discuss and conduct a workshop and simulation on the most recent
forms of qualitative research designs and data-gathering strategies in
the context of action researches;
- Present actual case studies and samples of action researches that
have utilized qualitative designs

Target Competencies to Gain The following are the primary skills-sets and competencies that are
expected to be gained by the participants, to wit:

- Technical writing on qualitative research approaches


- Qualitative data gathering and instrumentation
- Familiarization on and actual application of various qualitative
research designs and methodologies
- Alternative research approaches in application to action-researches
- Viability of potential action-researches
- Assessment of classroom-based management practices as potential
avenue for conduct of action researches

- Shall be composed of 200 – 250 words only
- Content/ Body Font Size (12) while Title is Font Size (18);
- Font Style (Arial Narrow);
- Justified;
- Double-Spaced
- Please include all names of authors
- Should be submitted in word document or PDF format only

*Should your abstracts be accepted, a formal letter of acceptance and


invitation shall be sent to your e-mail. Average screening time for
acceptance of abstracts for presentations shall be 5 – 7 calendar days
upon receipt of submission. You may proceed to payment of
registration fees afterwards so as to confirm your slot and personalized
certificates.
Learning Requirements
Learner Profile and The conference is open to all professional educators and
Demographics administrators of Elementary, Secondary, and Tertiary educational
institutions (public and private schools) throughout the country.

Likewise, the conference is open to all professionals in various


disciplines, research enthusiasts, and research practitioners alike.
Instructional Design and Approach
Instructional Materials and The Training Management Team (TMT) shall utilize various and
Methodologies learner-centered approaches and materials to maximize the learning
potential of the conference participants. Such instructional materials
and methodologies shall include but are not limited to Open Space
Learning techniques, audio-visual aids, focus group discussions/ break-
out sessions, plenary and lecture, systematic learning experiences,
among others.
Assessment and The TMT shall provide significant attention to the learning acquisition
Evaluation Strategies and retention processes through developed assessment and
evaluation tools which are customized to fit the dynamics of the
learners and participants.
