Hear from the leaders behind a ground-breaking project engaging and networking high net worth donors of color. The project includes a landscape analysis which examines the giving patterns and priorities of high net worth people of color and finds that while these donors are generous and philanthropically engaged, they are invisible to mainstream philanthropy and largely not even know each other. Join a discussion with Media Matters and American Bridge about their retooling and on using technology and digital communications to meet the challenges of 2018. Media Matters President Angelo Carusone will describe the importance of mapping and understanding the fake news ecosystem and how forcing policy changes at Google, Facebook, and YouTube can prevent the proliferation of fake news and suppressive tactics online in the lead up to the midterms. American Bridge President Bradley Beychok will discuss how through innovative tactics they were able to help secure Democratic victories in Alabama and the 18th Congressional District in Pennsylvania, and what insights from those recent victories will mean for November.
