This bar chart compared the frequency of US citizens eating in fast food restaurants in

the year 2003, 2006 and 2013.

It is clear that most Americans ate in fast food restaurants once a week from 2003 to
2006, but eating in fast food restaurants once or twice a month became the most
popular frequency in 2013. Eating in these places several times a week and a few times
a year were the less popular choices by Americans in the period shown. The number
of people who went to fast food restaurants on a regular basis or never went to such
places was negligible.

The frequency of eating once a week saw a slight rise from 2003 to 2006 to the peak
of 33 per cent whereas it declined to 28 per cent in 2013. On the contrary, the
frequency of eating once or twice a month saw a decrease from 2003 to 2006 to the
bottom of 25 per cent, but it dramatically rose to 37 per cent, which reached to the
highest level of the frequency of eating once a week in 2006.

The rest of the four frequencies were not predominant. The frequency of several times
a week fluctuated during the 11 years. The frequency of a few times a year saw a slight
increase from 2003 to 2006 and remained stable. Eating every day and never eating in
fast food restaurants both decreased in the first four years and remained the same
level.
