Section Two – Your Scholarship Statement


This is your opportunity to tell us why you should be awarded a scholarship. Students must
meet one of the following criteria:
• Academic excellence in your previous education
• At least three years’ work experience
• Other reasons, such as volunteer work you have undertaken or how you expect to
contribute to life at NCI

Please indicate which one of the three criteria you feel that you match.

For UG, we would expect overall grades in excess of 70%. For PG, we would expect to students to have gradu-
ated with a 2.1 or higher.

Tell us why you have chosen to study at NCI and why think you are a good candidate for one
of our scholarships. You may want to tell us how your experiences will make you an excellent
student academically during your time at NCI and socially and the impact you will have on
the College and it’s student community. You should write around 300 words for this section.

Section Four – Terms and Conditions
I confirm that the details given in this scholarship application form are accurate and I have
read and understood the terms and conditions of the NCI International Scholarship.

1. To be eligible for consideration of an international scholarship, applicants must:


a. have been offered a place on an eligible full-time course and
b. be classed as overseas students for tuition fee purposes.

Please Note: NCI progression students are not eligible to apply for a scholarship.

2. Students who are sponsored by their employers, government or a funding body (full / part) are not
eligible to apply for this scholarship award.
3. Applicants are only able to apply to the international scholarship once per academic year per offer
of a place on a qualifying course.
4. There are several scholarship application deadlines which must be strictly adhered to.
5. If your application is received after one of these deadlines it will be considered as submitted for
the next deadline. Applications received after the final deadline will not be considered.
6. A scholarship offer is made subject to adherence to all subsequent deadlines for deposit and
full fee payments.
7. The scholarship will be available in the form of a tuition fee reduction. If you are awarded a
scholarship, your fee will be adjusted before you enrol on year one.
8. If you have been made an offer to study on a one year full-time course and you are awarded any
other scholarship, bursary and/or fee reductions from the college, the maximum amount awarded
will not exceed more than half the tuition fee.
9. The scholarship is not transferable and will not be awarded if you choose to defer your entry to a
different academic year or if you choose to transfer to a different course at the College.
10. Applicants will be informed of whether they have (or have not) been awarded a scholarship (with
the value of the scholarship award if they have been awarded) within four weeks of the
application deadline dates.
11. The scholarship will only be awarded once an applicant accepts and meets the conditions of their
offer, accepts their scholarship offer, pays a deposit of no less than €1,000 and is eligible to
enrol on the course.
12. Scholarships are competitive and limited in availability. Selection is based on the information
you provide on the application form. It is, therefore, of great importance that you give your
personal statement careful thought and preparation and you refer to the criteria provided.
13. The college’s decision in all matters relating to the scholarship is final.
14. The college reserves the right to revoke the scholarship if you leave the college before completing
the programme.
15. If your scholarship application is successful, you may be asked to appear in online and / or
printed college marketing materials. This may involve providing a student profile and a
photograph which may be used to promote the college’s scholarship schemes and courses.
