In many ways, my relocation to Brookline is a return home. Born


and raised in Newburyport, I received my undergraduate degree
from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst (albeit with an ex-
change semester at the University of Hawaii), and my graduate
degree from Boston University. Both of my daughters were stu-
dents in and graduates of my very first preschool program begin-
ning in 1988! Marion also graduated from Tufts University and
NYU graduate school and is a teacher of French at Lawrence Acad-
emy in Groton, MA. My daughter Anna graduated from George
Washington University, and recently returned from a Fulbright Pro-
gram year in Uganda and begins her graduate studies in Washing- Installation of Rabbi Franken
