너무 더워서 찬 물로 It was really hot, so I took a shower with 너무 = too much, excessively
cold water. 덥다 = to be hot
샤워했어요. -아/어/여서 = since, because
차다 = to be cold
찬 is the adjective form of 차다.
-로 = as, for, to, with, via
샤워하다 = to shower
Day 2
끝나다
곧 끝나니까 잠깐만 기다려 It will be over soon so please wait for a 곧 = soon
moment. -(으)니까 = since, because
주세요. 잠깐 = for a short time, for a moment
-만 = just, only
기다리다 = to wait
-아/어/여 주세요 = Do something for me.
수업이 끝나자마자 As soon as the class was over, I ran to the 수업 = class
cafeteria. -자마자 = as soon as + S + V
식당으로 달려갔어요. 식당 = restaurant, cafeteria

달려가다 = to run into
영화가 10시에 시작해서 The movie starts at 10 o’clock and will 영화 = movie, film

Day 3
얼굴
오늘은 모르는 얼굴이 Today, there are a lot of new faces. 오늘 = today
모르다 = to not know
많네요. 많다 = to be a lot
거기는 사람을 뽑을 때 They look at the applicants’ appearance 거기 = there, that place
when they hire people. 사람 = person, people
얼굴을 봐요. 사람을 뽑다 = to hire someone, to choose someone
-(으)ㄹ 때 = when S + V
보다 = to see, to look, to watch
어디 아파요? Are you not feeling well? You look very 어디 = where
gaunt. 아프다 = to be sick, to hurt
얼굴이 반쪽이 됐네요. 반쪽 = half
-되다 = to become
얼굴이 반쪽이 되다 = to become gaunt, to lose a lot of
weight
바닷가에 다녀와서 얼굴이 I went to the beach so my face got really 바닷가 = beach
tan. -에 = at, in, from, to
까맣게 탔어요. 다녀오다 = to go (and come back)
까맣다 = to be black
까맣게 is the adverb form of 까맣다.

생겼지만 사실은 착한 무섭다 = to be scary
사람이에요. 무섭게 is the adverb form of 무섭다.
-게 생기다 = to be + adjective (to describe one’s
appearance), to look like a + adjective + person
-았/었/였지만 = V-ed but, even though + S + V-ed
사실 = actually
착하다 = to be nice, to be kind
착한 is the adjective form of 착하다.
Day 4
쓰다
너무 신경 쓰지 마세요. Don’t worry too much about it. 너무 = too much, excessively
신경 = nerve
신경 쓰다 = to worry, to be concerned about something
-지 마세요 = Don’t + V.
잠깐 컴퓨터 좀 써도 돼요? Can I use the computer for a little bit? 잠깐 = a little
컴퓨터 = computer
좀 = a little, please
-아/어/여도 되다 = to be okay to + V
다 썼으면 제자리에 갖다 Once you’ve finished using it, put it back 다 = all, whole, every
where it was. -(으)면 = if + S + V, once + S + V
놓으세요. 제자리 = where it belongs to, where one keep it
-에 = at, in, from, to
갖다 놓다 = to bring it and put it
펜을 다 썼으면 뚜껑을 닫아 Once you’ve finished using the pen, close 펜 = pen

expensive. 맛있다 = to be delicious
같아요. -는데 = whereas, but
좀 = a little, please
비싸다 = to be expesive
-ㄴ/은/는 것 같다 = I think ...
평소에 별로 안 좋아하는 I don’t usually like this taste. 평소 = usual day, ordinary day

맛이에요. 별로 = not really, not particularly

맛이 다 거기서 거기죠. They all taste the same. Just eat it. 다 = all, whole, every

-서 is -에서 in the original form but people often just use -
서 for ease of pronunciation.
거기서 거기이다 = to have no big difference, to be about
the same
여기는 맛이 없기로 유명한 This place is famous for bad food. 여기 = here, this place
맛이 없다 = to be not delicious, to not taste good
곳이에요. -기로 유명하다 = to be famous for
유명하다 = to be famous
유명한 is the adjective form of 유명하다.

Day 6
놀다
놀지만 말고 일 하세요. Don’t just play all the time and please get -지만 말다 = Don’t just + V.

일 하다 = to work
-(으)세요 = imperative (polite)
놀러 가고 싶은데 시간이 I want to go somewhere and have fun but -(으)러 = to + V (purpose)
don’t have time. 가다 = to go
없어요. 놀러 가다 = to go on a trip, to visit, to hang out
-고 싶다 = to want to + V
-(으/느)ㄴ데 = and, but
시간 = time, hour
없다 = to not have, to be not there, to not exist
이번 달에는 노는 날이 며칠 Do you know how many public holidays 이번 = this, this time

원래 공부하려고 만났는데 Our plan was to meet up and study, but 원래 = originally, actually
we ended up just playing. 공부하다 = to study
그냥 놀기만 했어요. -(으)려고 = to + V (purpose)

-(으/느)ㄴ데 = and, but

-기만 하다 = to only + V

일하다 = to work
-고 있다 = to be + V-ing
일할 때는 열심히 일하고, You should work hard when you work, 일하다 = to work

놀 때는 재미있게 놀아야죠. 열심히 = hard, diligently
재미있다 = to be fun, to be interesting
재미있게 is the adverb form of 재미있다.

Day 7
냄새
바다 냄새가 너무 좋아요. I really like the smell of the sea. 바다 = sea, ocean
너무 = too much, excessively
좋다 = to be good
이상한 냄새가 나지 Don’t you smell something strange? 이상하다 = to be weird, to be odd
이상한 is the adjective form of 이상하다.
않아요? 냄새가 나다 = something smells
-지 않다 = to not + V
이걸 넣으면 냄새가 좋아질 If you put this in, it will make it smell 이걸 = this (object)
better. 이걸 is 이거를 in the original form but people often just say
거예요. 이걸 for the ease of pronunciation

좋아지다 = to become good
-(으)ㄹ 것이다 = will, to be going to + V
맛있는 냄새가 나서 더 Because of the delicious smell, I feel more 맛있다 = to be delicious

그 음식은 맛은 있는데 That food is delicious but smells weird. 그 = that, the
