Kelsie has a solid grasp of the grade-level curriculum and how to present the information to the young learners. Students were given
opportunities to think critically, make decisions, and practice skills. Skills were related to real-world applications.

Kelsie's plans were clearly aligned with the school division's standards and pacing. Plans addressed key components of the direct
instructional model. Plans needed to address assessment methods, differentiation strategies, and classroom management strategies. It
is important to note that Kelsie IS differentiating instruction by small group. She needs to articulate differentiation strategies in her plans
(content, process, product, learning styles).

Kelsie was adept as guiding the young learners through a small group lesson on calendar skills. Lesson activities were age-appropriate
and provided students time to practice skills.

Kelsie consistently demonstrated this standard. She patiently redirected the young learner when needed to keep children focused and
on task. She clearly enjoyed working with the children and they responded well to her instruction.

Kelsie took initiative to create a chart in which she is tracking student academic progress from the beginning of the placement until the
end. Most pre-service teachers must be reminded that this is an important component of teaching. She went above and beyond to meet
this standard and provide evidence of student learning.
