Amani’s Community Paper

A community is a place that I belong to and to communicate with others who is in the
same place. The communities I belong to are: West Town, CAHS, Chicago, Palestine. The
community that I feel the most part of is Chicago. I feel part of this community because that the
place that I was born there and lived there for a several years, and this is the most place that
had affected me, because a lot of changes that happened in my life after I moved there, being a
part of Chicago community affect the decisions that I make.

The racial and ethnic makeup of my community is: 45% White, 32.9% Black, 0.5%
American Indian and Alaska Native, 5.5% Asian, 28.9% Hispanic. (Quick Facts, December 2,
2015). The gender statistics of my community is: 48.5% Males, 51.5% Females. (Quick Facts,
December 2, 2015). The economic status in my community is: High economy. Chicago and the
metropolitan area hosts 32 fortune 500 companies. (City of Chicago, 2010-2016). The
population of my community is: 2,722,389.(Quick Facts,NA). The leader in my community is
Mayor Rahm Emanuel. (City of Chicago, 2010-2016). Mayor Rahm Emanuel had added more
than 200 hours to the school day and year. (City of Chicago,2010-2016). Sites of my community
is:Art Institute of Chicago, The Field Museum Of Natural History, Museum Of Science and
Industry. (Chicago Museums, Galleries and Exhibits, 1999-2016).

The members of my community that I feel most close to are my family. The reason why I
feel close to my family is because I spend most of my time with them. One decisions that I have
made that had affected my family is to like the new school and work hard for it. My family
affected this decision that my family let me get excited about school and enjoy time in the
school, by making friends also to work hard for my future. I am now a new person who is trying
to live a new and different life, I am open a new experiences and learning a new language. One
experience that has been positive is coming to Chicago and going to school, and knew a new
people and made a new friends who I knew them recently.
