The linguistic meaning of ibadah in Arabic is submission and surrender .

technically it incoprates many

definations. According to ibn taymiyyah it is a comprehensive tern that encompasses all what Allah loves
of words and deeds whether inward or outward .

Ibn al qayyim said ‘worship is the utnoar degrees of love to Allah while accompanied by complete
surrender.

Ibadah is worship , an act in itsself truth through which worshipper gets closer to Allag.. We worship
Allah alone without any partners. It is categorised as worship of the heart , tongue and limbs . ibadah
consists of salah , fasting , hajj , zakath ,jihad , dua (only to Allah ) and SK in, it does not only consists of
ritual acts it is saying or action which Allah likes , and is pleased with . love and hate for the sake of
Allah , sincerity , hope , patience , commanding good and forbidding evil , taking cars of parents , spouse
, childrens and orphans . Controlling once evil desires and also feeding animals and birds is also an
Ibadah. All the good deeds are Ibadah. Every single thing we do for sake of Allah is an act of worship and
every single thing we leave or abondon for the sake of Allah is also an act of worship.

In contradiction to Ibadah in Isalm , we find many other religion where people worship many man
made God or the creations created by Allah . I am from India. The most prominent religion in India is
Hinduism . they have thousands of God NAD worship whatever good they find . mother is a God , Cow is
a God . they also worship Air , stone , trees , humans , snakes etc. Nowadays Muslims are torchered and
killed for eating cow as they think its their mother God.. There is also male and female God , they also
worship money by the name lakshmi .even if A person is dressed in the costume of their God for Dramas
or for movies even they are worshipped.

We also find some in our community who associate partner with Allah . which also an act of Shirk .

Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He
wills. And he who associates others with Allah has certainly fabricated a tremendous sin.(4:48)

Even though some people are educated but due to family they rigid to accept the truth. We have
famous Dargah in our place. Different people from far away places come and visit the Dargas. If we go to
some village places in my state the people are very much ignorant . they celebrate so called religious
functions along with non Muslims they don’t differentiate between them.

Hardly these people understand that only Allah can help us , he alone cam save us from calamities here
and from hereafter .without his mercy nothing is possible. The biggest misconception in our place is
that the Muslims they label themselves as Muslim and believes in Allah(swt) but follows each and every
step of Ibadah according to non Muslims.. The term Ibadah is completely misunderstood .

So by worshipping him alone is compulsory in every act of Ibadah . The true tranquillity is gained
through worship of Allah alone without any partner .
