1st SPEECH

“Grow”…
“Grow” is a new project organized by AISEC… A very innovating
project I must say… the idea is to show high school students (that)
they can (manage to do whatever they want in life) break their
limits if they work really hard…
Each and every one of us came to this project `cause it sounded
promising.

At first we thought…(First we might have thought,)hm.. why

should we join this project….will it (help us)be useful in any way?
Is it going to make a change, to make a diference in our lives? Is
learning to manage projects, people management, time management,
personal values, skill building, leadership skills and career orientation
going to help us? Well that is why we joined the project, to (find
out)answer these particular questions…

Moreover During (the)this 2 weeks session(s) we actually

(learned a lot)discovered new thrilling information such as(aici
scrii u cv ce ai inv)… Not only (what we were promised to learn)we
learnt what we were supposed to but even more…For example
we were taught to support and be considerate towards each
other and to cope with the unexpected. Trust my word when I
say it was not (just) one of (a normal)the regular trifling, dull
projects we were all familiar with. Why do you ask? Well due to
the foreign students that we are so greatful to have had them
as our trainers (by the way..i take advantage of this to say
thank you all for your hard work). It was absolutely marvellous
to have had the opportunity to actually communicate in English
with them…a one time experience ) (aici razi si u). (because
the trainers were foreign students and we had to talk in English which
was grate but not only that) The last but not least we also got to
know a little about different cultures (as well)… Even if we spent a
relatively little time with each other I can truly say we
developed sincere friendships and hopefully we’ll keep in
touch.(the communications between us was excellent). Furthermore,
(There were) the many psychological games (that) we played
developed different personal skills (and we practiced) by practicing
team work in the same time…It was something like 2 in 1, don’t
you think?:P

Grow was a project that took place not only in Bucharest but in
many other Romanian cities like Brasov, Cluj, Constata, Iasi, Oradea,
Pitesti, Ploiesti, Sibiu, TG.Mures or Timisoara. (and) I am sure that
every participant had something to learn that will be useful to them in
the near future…
Every one liked Grow… it made (them feel something) widen
their perspectives in life…. and it also helped us create bonds.
Here is what a few “grow” participants said:

“GROW made me judge people,

But also taught that this is wrong

GROW made me think deeper,

Consider myself strong.

GROW showed me friends and pleasure,

keeping life in appropriate measure.

GROW made me thank and love my only treasure

I wanna scream: I feel like I GROW!”

And other participants said:

“GROW taught me that everything is possible.”

“GROW 0.9 meant a new beginning for me. Because of all the people involved, I
rediscovered myself and I became more sociable and a little more self-confident. I really
want to keep in touch with the friends I’ve made during these weeks.”

“I became a better person after the sessions of GROW. I have more self-confidence, I feel
like being different from other people. Now I think that everything is possible and I can
make my dreams come true.”

“GROW taught me to dare to dream, to wish for something and have the guts to fight for
it. It taught me what’s it like to feel secure and open, compassionate and strong, to give
without asking anything in return.”

“GROW was fun. I wish school was more like GROW. I loved the freedom of
expression, I love the fact that you can do everything you want whenever you want. And
guess what? It wasn’t chaotic at all. I learned that people can develop and understand the
others better when they don’t have rules. I am what I want to be!”

“GROW showed me that we DO have something in common.”

“I had the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends, who have the same
passions and hobbies.”

“I improved my Communication Skills and learned to cooperate in a team.”

“I’ve learned to listen to other’s problems and to care more about them. I’ve learned that
sharing smiles is easy and so pleasant, too. I’ve learned not to judge and discriminate
others just because they are different. I met friendly persons with whom I worked in a
team.”

So as you could (here) hear the opinions of some grow participants

you can see that this program was a (grate) great experience for us
all and we would love to have more such experiences that would
broaden (open) our minds to a better world and (a better) future ….
It was An experience that made (make) us not only dream but reach
(for our dreams)our goals (se cam repeta dream)…and try to make
the best out of everything (because,) Why is that? Well because
each and every one of us is important, each and every one of us can
bring a change into this world that we live in… Because (do not) we
shouldn’t forget that those young and unexperienced minds are
the future and we need them prepared, capabale, we need their
inventiveness extended to a maximum (developed minds) to (get
a better world)improve the nowadays world…to change it into a
world of possibilities and achievements a world build by us …THE
YOUNG GENERATION…
