Once there myself and other law enforcement officers assisted students and faculty that were being evacuated from the building. Upon arrival, I parked my unmarked police vehicle on Pine Island Rd., directly East of the faculty and staff parking otfous drop-off, retrieved my carbine from it’s case in my trunk and proceed along the Fast side of the high school, past buildings 1 and 8. As I approached builidng 12, 1 observed CSPD officers enter the East door of building 12, 1 joined with Detective Winn and moved North and then West along the parking lot and positioned myself to cover the ‘North and Westside of building 12 in the event the suspect exited the building or in case shots were fired from a elevated position from the builiding, After word was received that the suspect was observed on video exiting the building to the West and South approximately 20 minutes earlier, Detective Winn and I moved further West along building 13 and down to the SW comer of building 13. was directed by Captain McKeone to hold that position and cover building 6 while SWAT officers conducted clearings. As buildings were cleared, I helped to direct students and staf as they egressed the campus to a safe staging area to the North. Once the scene was secured, I was directed to respond to the Marriott Heron Bay Golf Resort. Upon arrival, contact ‘was made with Sergeant Reid and I was instructed to assist the Victim Advocates from Coral Springs PD, Broward Sheriff's Office, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. 1 was released from these duties at 9:30 pm. As we came through the front parking lot the group split to the north and south. I worked south with officer Gomez. We came along the exterior of the 400 building and the 900 building. ‘We held at the south west comer of the school as there ‘were no other officers on that side of the school yet and there was no information on the location of the shooter. We did eacounter students fleeing from the buildings and directed them tothe south east comer ofthe school through the parking lot.
