To summarise, I am sure of what you have said is correct, but only in your perspective, because the truth is religion do 

cause violence, not it all cases, but certainly many. For example, the crusade war, according to professor Jonathan from 

Cambridge university, h
​ e had stated that the troops that went for the attack did not expect any wealth gain​, 

the ​primary motivation was the reward that they received which is was spiritual merit​from​ the priest​, this 

certainly​ shows that religion is used in ways that causes violence​. Moreover, it was said to be a​n act of sacrifice 

ands piety for the lord christ​. Are you convinced? Then, what about the verses that had been stated in the Qur’an 

where it says, I​ shall cast terror into the hearts of the infidels (non-believers). Strike off their heads, strike off 

the very fingertips​- Quran (8:12). Furthermore, The bible also said that f​ or these enemies of mine, who didn’t 

want me to reign over them, bring them here and slaughter them before me.​It contradicts with your verse (…) 

doesn’t it. So, what can the followers believe? But, the slaughtering people and religious war which seems to be the 

popular one, such as, the ISIS and the taliban terrorism which is based on religion (BBC). The bible and Qur’an 

certainly teaches how be a morally good person, but it doesn’t accept other religions, and ending them by using brute 

forces. Now isn’t that a valid evidence. I mention about christianity and Islam a lot because they are the two biggest 

religions in the world. Hence, religious wars, and conflicts in the world are because of them. Religions do shape a 

human’s perspective. Therefore, i hereby certify that religions do cause violence and also inflame conflicts between 

people’s peacefulness.

Religion does possess a potential for extremism because it deals with extreme things. People
can compromise with small disputes over borders and territory, but people cannot compromise
with the will of God since it is absolute.
