It seems like 2017 passed in record time. Can we slow down this New Year
that’s upon us? Absolutely not! So, we need to make it the best it can be as we
serve our Lord. There are some ways we can kick off the New Year to make it
better than the previous year. For instance, we can pledge to make 2018 better
by seeking God in three major ways as we remember that God said in
Jeremiah 29:12-14 that those who seek Him with all their heart will find Him.

A. Let us make 2018 a year to devote more time in Prayer.
 
Many of the great men and women of the Bible resorted to prayer to find God’s
answer, God’s understanding and even God’s help.  These are things that God
wants to do and provide in our lives and His Church. I’ll be the first to admit
that this life is too big to live it by myself. I believe you probably feel the same
way. It is easier knowing that God is there to guide me, lead me and take me
through every step of 2018.
 
B. Let us make 2018 a year to devote more time in Studying God’s Word.
 
In Second Timothy 3:16 it says that the Word of God is profitable in all areas of
my life. The word profitable means that God’s Word is useful to me as a
Christian. It is useful in my personal Christian growth, it useful to me in

understanding what the will of the Lord is, and it is useful to me in shaping

and molding me into God’s special person and it useful in training me to be
God’s special servant.
