Data Set Description: This study was conducted to assess the satisfaction levels of staff from an
educational institution. They were asked to specify their importance and agreement toward certain
factors that lead to overall job satisfaction.
The overall satisfaction is measured by difference between the Agreement and Importance
scores. Lower the difference between Agreement and Importance higher the Job satisfaction.
Part one
a) Run Factor Analysis on Both Agreement (Agree1 to Agree8) and Importance (Important1
to Important8) Constructs. To assess if the constructs are unidimensional, if not deal with
it accordingly.
b) Make sure if there are any reverse item condition, then deal with it before running the
reliability analysis.
c) Run Reliability analysis on both constructs: on this stage make sure each construct is
unidimensional and no reverse items appear.
d) CHECK ALERT... Before proceeding to computations of the variables make sure both
constructs are unidimensional and reliable.
e) If both constructs are reliable only then go on computation of the variables. Compute Sum
scores of both Agreement and Importance constructs. Target variable names would be
AgreeSum and ImportantSum.
f) Compute overall job satisfaction. Target variable name would be (JobSatisfaction).
g) Compute Regression variables of Agreement, Importance. And rename them as AgreeReg
and ImportantReg.
h) Compute Standardized variable of JobSatisfaction, its default name would be
ZJobSatisfaction.
i) CHECK ALERT…By now you have additional six variables in the data set, AgreeSum,
ImportantSum, Job Satisfaction, AgreeReg, ImportantReg and ZJobSatisfaction.
Part Two
Now you are all set for data visualization and data analysis.
