DRIVING INNOVATION IN PATIENT OUTCOMES: LIFE IS WHY

Each year in select cities, the American Heart Association convenes a forum that includes leaders in research,
pharmaceutical, healthcare, medical technology, venture capital, investment banking and related industries
connected to the life sciences. In its fifth year, the Philadelphia Heart Science Forum is setting a foundation for
collaboration and networking to promote the acceleration of science to market. The 2018 Heart Science Forum
will showcase some of the Philadelphia region’s most pioneering leaders and entrepreneurs as they present
innovative solutions to managing and preventing cardiovascular diseases and stroke.

Heart disease remains the number one killer of all Americans, and stroke remains the number five killer. The
American Heart Association is dedicated to speeding the investigation and development of products and
technology with the potential to help people affected by cardiovascular diseases or stroke. Attendees will hear
insights on the status of investment and innovation in the region, and will also have the opportunity to network
with industry peers in support of the American Heart Association's mission. This event will position participants
to be a part of the link that ties together emerging science and technology with future patient care.
