Agenda for my Event:

1. Opening Speech
a. Good evening ladies and gentlemen, my name is Kimi Jones. Throughout the
first semester of this year, I researched the causes and effects of information
classification. I was able to find only a few problems with information
classification. In doing my project, my hope was to understand some of the
repercussions of information classification. My film will include some
informational commercial breaks that will explain what is going on during that
section of the film as well as explain some of the concepts used. I hope you all
enjoy.
b. I will now pass out these KWL charts; you do not have to put your name on it.
Before the video you will fill out the Know and Want to Know sections of the form.
This will provide me with a comprehensive look at what you actually know about
information classification. After the video, I will have you all fill out the Learned
section. So please go ahead and fill out these forms, and then we will have a
short discussion about what everyone knows before the video is shown.

a. Through my project I hoped to demonstrate some of the extremely dramatic
effects of overclassification in the United States. In researching this issue, I
found that my original outlook on how information classification effects law
enforcement officers and the public was wrong. When I began, I theorized that
information classification impeded law enforcement officers and the public in their
everyday lives, but I can now see that there are few actual instances where
information is over-classified or overanalyzed and expanded upon by the media.
There are actually few instances where a problem occurs as a result of the
United States’ information classification. I will not have you a fiill out the learn
section of the KWL chart and then discuss some of the things you may still want
to know.
b. I hope you all found my project enjoyable and informative on this issue. If you
have questions please feel free to ask and I will answer them to the best of my
knowledge. Thank you all for coming. I appreciate your support. Also on your
way out, please place your KWL charts in the bin by the door. I would like to
keep them so that I have some documentation for the panel that I will present this
spring.
