rsity Consultant Comments:
Dustin has completed the exit assignments for PSIII to a high level satisfaction. | wish Dustin
success in his future role as a teacher and have the utmost confidence that he will make a
positive, significant difference in the lives of his students. Dustin's rapport with his students,
knowledge of enjoyable sports and brain breaks, and energetic sharing of his time with
[extra-curricular activities such as coaching and setting up noon hour intramurals will serve his
future educational communities well.
Dustin has successfully met his Professional Growth Plans with professional development
activities related to managing small groups, learning to coach, assess students, incorporating
fine motor and social skils into classroom activities, and incorporating technology into the
lessons. In addition, his Professional Portfolio has been updated and shared. The tone and
content is quite professional within a sophisticated, self-developed web page.
Dustin has completed his Professional Inquiry Project (PIP) that consisted of creating a
website for physical education activity adaptations. Dustin provided extensive research based
[evidence and practical applications for this website. The "how to do this" contents were placed
ona web based platform for accessibility as well as the ability to be able to update it. This PIP
has been gifted to the school, with the links sent to the school staff in order to be used as a
future resource.
Dustin's professional development extended beyond the classroom. He attended all of the
PSIIl symposium meetings this term: Orientation meeting, Long Term Planning, Statement of
Goals, Professional Inquiry Projects, Professional Portfolio, Differentiation Strategies and
Classroom Management and Administrator Expectations. In addition, Dustin attended a
special PD session on Feb 27th when Dr. Michael Ungar presented on his Nine Things Kids
Need to be Resilient: Parents and Teachers workshop.
Dustin will be a positive addition to the field of education. He has demonstrated a capacity to
understand and address his student's unique needs on numerous occasions. His abllity to
instruct, provide independent learning and utilize technology are all strong. When observing
him it was clear that Dustin's students were not only fond of him but also respected his
teaching abilities. This was also the case with his colleagues.

Sane intern Teacher; DustinLedsham
‘Administrator Comments:
Dustin Ledsham completed his PSII Internship, Education 4582, at Ecole Saint Mary School during the
Spring Semester of 2018. He was placed with Mrs. Sheila Cook, whose primary responsibilty is
inclusive education supports for students in our English program, recognizing that Ecole Saint Mary is a
dual track school. Dustin's responsibilities were as diverse as the needs of our students, allowing him
to provide Foundational Skills to a number of our students grades 1-6, as well as specific interventions
for both numeracy and literacy. Dustin became familiar with and implemented the Levelled Literacy |
Intervention (LLI) as designed by Fountas and Pinnell. Dustin also assisted in our grade 1 library
[classes as well as providing instruction in English language arts to one of our grade 2 French
Immersion classes.
| had the opportunity to observe Mr, Ledsham both formally and informally. ! was impressed with the
rapport he was able to develop with his students, and his ability to adapt to unique situations,
particularly his ability to differentiate and respond to the many needs of his small groups, whether this
was recognizing a particular family situation or the inability of a student to fully comprehend due to their
[English language learning needs. His lessons were well prepared and he made use of technology,
presenting many of his lessons via the Smart Board which was used in a very interactive manner. He
was receptive to feedback and reflective of his own teaching, understanding the importance of
| scaffolding and the need for differentiation. Students were familiar with the routines and knew that they
\were in a caring learning environment. |
Dustin did not limit his internship simply to instruction; he volunteered his services in a number of
extra-curricular endeavors. Mr. Ledsham helped coach both the boys’ and girls' grade 6 basketball
teams, He also assisted with two of our after school badminton programs and, with the assistance of
‘another intern teacher, was responsible for starting a noon-hour intramural program for all students. |
\was incredibly impressed with the dedication and commitment that Dustin made towards our
|extra-curricular programs, recognizing the need to develop the whole child, and understanding the
importance of developing relationships beyond the boundaries of the class. This same dedication can |
be found in Dustin's Personal Inquiry Project (PIP) where he brings together two of his passions,
physical education and inclusive education
Mr, Ledsham's contributions and growth within the time he was endeared to us was outstanding. His
relationship with both students and staff are exemplary. Dustin has all the attributes needed to be a
highly successful teacher. He will be missed by students, staff and the Ecole St. Mary School
|community as a whole. | have no hesitation in recommending Dustin for a teaching position; he would
be an asset to any school community lucky enough to secure him,
