Rapier weapons carriers are tracked artillery units fielded by the Adeptus Astartes and other arms of the Imperium’s vast military for bringing to
bear weapons too heavy even for a Space Marine to carry. Possessed of its own on-board reactor and target-cursing cognis system, the Rapier is
a semi-automated weapons platform able to deploy in any war zone the Space Marines themselves might be called upon to operate in. Capable
of mounting a range of weapon systems, the quad mortar variant is one of the less common configurations, but one utilised when the Space
Marines are ranged against large numbers of relatively slow moving and lightly armoured foes, in particular hordes of cultists, rebels or recidivists
deserving only of a fiery death delivered in the name of the Emperor.
