Teaching Practice Task 3: Peer Observation

(Course Learning Outcome positive environment, 4 – considering individual differences and 5
– timing)

Objective: You will identify good teaching and learning strategies. You will note teaching
strategies that your peer used that you consider very useful and you would want to use. This
strategy can deal with the use of materials and technology, the review of prior learning, the
motivation of the children, the presentation of the materials, the appropriateness of the
practice activities, classroom management strategies, timing strategies, reviewing the
lesson, general assessment of the learning. You should observe for 20 minutes.

1. Organization
Appropriate organization of content. Planning the use of

her planning was good and detailing and she explain
each part from the warm up till the closing I was able to
understand what she was going to do in her lesson. At
the begging of the class she had a little problem with the
organization of the classroom and the students was a
little bit noisy and she tried her best to tell them to be
quiet.
her introduction was very clear, and she relate the
introduction with past lesson which was very good move
because this lesson was a left up from the last one and
that what she made clear at the begging of the lesson.
She interacts with the students very well and her
classroom management was really good. The students
were being attention to her and they were trying to
answer every question she asked. They were a bit noisy
at the begging of the class, but that behavior changed
when she told them to stop and listen. Overall her lesson
was good and as I saw the students really liked her, it
will be good idea if she doesn’t do this kind of lesson
after the break because they came from the break and
they were really hype and they kept talking and move a
lot in the classroom when she give them independent
work.

General class atmosphere.
The activities that she gives them was interesting, but it
was mostly a worksheet activity, and that’s why I think
the students lost their interest during the lesson. But
there was this game that she did, and it was fun and by
what I saw I think the students really enjoy it. She
encourages the students who were not participating to
answer some questions.
The students really enjoyed the lesson and I could figure
that out by watching them trying to answer the
questions and doing the activities that the teacher give
them. It was a good lesson I really enjoyed observing her.

5. General observations Overall, it was a good lesson with good activities. She
could’ve be more creative with her activities but she
really had a good ideas with the worksheets activities
which I find really impressive.
